It is inexcusable that the city of Cleveland pushed back this celebration of the LGBTQ community to host a racist xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic body and then followed it up by cancelling an event that preceded for the past 27 years.

We can host the RNC and an impromptu parade for 1.3 million people, but we can't have Pride? Oh, okay.

The cancellation of this event due to lack of planning is inexcusable. The board needs to get answers, or they should be replaced.

As a former Clevelander, I can only think what a shame! Just as Cleveland is FINALLY beginning to shine from the inside out once again, you pull the plug on both the LGBTQ community and the Cleveland area communities. And your justification for cancelling Cleveland Pride is so weak and opaque that I can't help but think there is a more reasonable, and perhaps understandable justification that you are simply not sharing. This sends a sad message far and wide. And hopefully it will send a message to the Cleveland LGBTQ community that they need new leadership for Cleveland Pride.
Shame on you., Mr. Saporito!
