Be honest and forthright with the community regardless of the reason. That is what deserves respect and maintains credibility. Instead, we got a shrouded excuse.

Sorry Todd, it's time. This is not ok, every year it's some excuse.

I am extremely disappointed! I haven't attended a pride in years and with all the positivity and lack of prejudice it would have made this year a huge!

Inexcusable turn of events.

Cleveland Pride was my first pride I attended when I was 17. I am thoroughly upset and saddened by the lack of respect to be honest with the reasoning for cancelling, and the lack of responsibility to coordinate this years event.

I'm sad to see such a planning failure at such an important time. I never saw the safety training date declared for parade orgs, and I haven't seen any official Festival flyers anywhere, no list of entertainers, none of the usual hype throughout the year. This isn't just a massive loss or revenue for local hotels, restaurants, bars, etc.; it's also a MASSIVE outreach loss for the community organizations that depend on yearly information tables at the Pride Festival, to put them arm's length away from thousands of people who might never find out they exist on the other 364 days per year, organizations whose services might have very positive impacts in the lives of the LGBTx folks they are able to serve. Shame!

So we can host a Cavs championship parade and the RNC but not Pride? The size difference makes it a joke that you'd cancel it. Your statement isn't a good enough explanation. If you're being pressured to do this or if you're doing this yourself, step down. We need a LEADER to represent us. You are not that. We need pride more than ever

This is absolutely outrageous!! You are telling me Cleveland can handle 1.3 MILLION people for a CAVS celebration, the RNC which is nothing but "social climate" , but they can't handle 30,000 on average that come down to Cleveland to celebrate Pride every year???? That is a slap in Cleveland's face, and to the LGBTQA community!! He didn't do his job, he basically admitted it, and should be forced to resign!!!!!!

He had one job to do. And he failed at it.

When your organization has one job to do and you don't do it, you need to resign.

I have always felt the pride festivals were not equal to the festivals in other cities you must have accountability. I'd love to get on the board...raise money for worth while gay causes...like the remainder of finances needed for the lgbt center!

Me and my boyfriend are in a long distance relationship and I had planned a trip around Cleveland's Pride festival with him. This is more than disappointed to have an event be canceled needlessly.

He should be removed.

Cleveland pride helped me become who I am today and to see it be cancelled means that this year young queer people who are fearful of the world they live in already are being told they don't matter by their own community.
