Cleveland Pride, Inc needs to be disbanded and the responsibilities for this event taken over by another organization.

Someone needs to take a long hard look at this Todd guy and the way he is handling this organization. This is a disgrace and I hope that people are persistent in the quest to find out where the money went from last years pride (which was funded through gofundme after it was rescheduled to rain) Where is the money from the original event Todd? Where is the money from this years event. HE NEEDS TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!

It is a disgrace that it was cancelled with no real reason. Lots of donations went into this, you can't just keep the money and not pay up

If the city can get a parade together in 48 hours that brought MILLIONS of people together with minimal casualties, then how hard is it to get a Pride fest in two weeks??

I stopped volunteering when the event became a social click. I would fly 2000 miles to come back to be with friends. In my opinion, Todd has never been the right person for the job.

I am so upset about the cancellation. AT THE LAST MINUTE. You need help you ask for it and if you don't get it, ok, cancel. But to cancel with no real reason given, totally unacceptable!

This CANNOT be cancelled. It will send shockwaves through the community, through the nation...do we want them to see us as weak and containable or do we want them to see us as strong and United!?!

So many of these comments I agree with whole heartedly. My child came out last year and calling them today to tell them Pride was cancelled for what seem to be very dubious reasons was truly sad. They cried and said it was the one thing they'd been excited for this entire summer where they felt they could be themselves, celebrate and stand up for what they believe in...mostly that they're okay with who they are and can be safe in this community, that love does win and that love truly trumps hate. How did other cities, a week after the Pulse tragedy, manage to have successful and safe Pride events and all of a sudden Cleveland cannot? We had the RNC. We had a NBA championship parade. We were there last year for my child and their sibling and friends first Pride ever and it was a life-changing event for them. If we'd had any inkling this was on the horizon, they and their sibling and friends would have been driven by me to a different Pride event elsewhere but it's too late now. This cancellation just showed my child and other teenagers that the adults in the community they look up to for leadership, support, identity, solace and shelter from the continually increasing backlash against them don't really have their backs or best interest at heart. That appalls me. If not this organization, then whom? I do think if the location is set, vendors/volunteer booths/events have been already secured then please, please another non-afraid, proactive, passionate group please step up, take over and still hold it. This is a huge backwards step for Cleveland, the community and all who planned to attend and at this point in history, I feel a huge mistake. Let's show the city and the nation what we're made of and have Pride!

You made a horrible decision. We have been a part of pride since 2000. How do you just cancel something volunteers have been working on for a whole year. It was a very cowardly decision. You need to resign.

Plexus and the Center share your disappointment. Turn our support towards these organizations and away from Cleveland Pride. Todd doesn't own pride (nor does he have any) so work with other successful organizations in the city to re-create pride. Have to do the work and not just sign petitions.....
