Residents Parking for the Colonies - Exmouth

Having lived in New North Road and see it what it's like now, is shameful, the residents have my sympathy.

I have lived in Salisbury road for over 20 years. I am totally fed up with not being able to park. I even catch trains and buses as not to move my car at weekends.

I live in hartopp road and daily can’t park near my house

I live in hartopp and was told recently by a councillor that this would be considered at the start of this year The parking is appalling and I was also told that no one else was interested in permit parking.

I live on marpool hill exmouth, I cannot park outside my own home most of the time. There , without doubt, ought to be much residents parking in exmouth. I am from Oxford, they have in most streets.

About time to be honest but nothing will come of this because there are some in the area who have more than 3 cars.

This should also include, Danby Terrace, Belvedere road etc as we all have a massive problem !

Egremont Road is a nightmare- for all the reasons stated in the petition, but has even more problems as it's used by the Exeter Road shop visitors and workers as a car park. It's time to sort it out

It’s a nightmare parking down here where we live. I’ve two small children and sometimes we have to park in a different street and walk home in the rain carrying shopping bags etc. Very often also residents are putting black bins/recycling bins or cones in the road outside their house to secure ‘their’ spot which doesn’t help the rest of us who do love here. I also work long 13 hour hospital shifts, never have anywhere to park when I get home and have to park on double yellows getting up early to move my car. I’ve once slept through my alarm and woke up to a parking ticket. Something certainly needs to be done in this area!

New North Road resident. Parking for residents is a joke now. There’s ample council car parks closer but people are too cheap to pay what is a low price to park their cars and residents suffer as they’re forced to play the double yellow or single yellow gamble and take a chance on getting a ticket. Bring on the residents permits and let the commuters and shoppers bear the wrath of the parking wardens

We’re on New North Road right near the path that leads to the station. It’s like a carousel of chancers first thing in the morning all waiting to pounce on the next available space and then off to the train station or down to the shops. It’s getting beyond ridiculous! I’ve emailed the council and they assured me they would be carrying out surveys and enquiries in April just gone. The newspaper article seems to suggest otherwise. It’s inky a matter of time before it really boils over! I’m more than happy to pay for a permit. Parking overnight proves that there’s more than enough space for all the residents cars. Please keep me in the loop and if you need any help with anything to do with this I’d be happy to help

Have lived here for 20 years parking is a nightmare, east Devon are losing money in local car park as people park around coleny and jump on the train, I fully support residents parking

I have lived in The Colony for over 30 years and the parking problem is getting worse year on year. It regularly takes more than 30 mins to find a parking space, that's if one can be found at all. A lot of the problems are caused by inconsiderate parking with one car taking the space of two. There is also a major problem with people parking commercial vehicles overnight and at weekends by people who do not live in The Colony. We desperately need something to be done about this.

I fully support permit parking in the whole of the Colonies. However in Exeter the charge is £15 for one car and £30 for two for the year so would not be looking to pay more than that.

I live in the colonies and although I don't drive I have friends who live in the colonies that do. I also have family that visit who drive and usually cannot find space to park. Even before I moved to the colonies I thought that parking should be limited to residents or their visitors not commuters or shoppers

Needs to cover the whole of the Colony.
