Residents over the shops add to the problem

Reduce the traffic flow, reduce the amount af cars parking in the road, hence reduce the danger to crossing school children.

....things are about to get a LOT worse!!! See below link, the upshot by my counting is that c. 18 spaces will disappear on Yorke Road, therefore, pushing the problem to the neighbouring streets which will materially effect Hardwicke/Worcester. Yorke will become even more of a rat run feeding through Hardwicke, which in itself will raise additional safety concerns. Cant understand the logic!!! http://www.surreymirror.co.uk/New-parking-restrictions-Reigate-Banstead/story-26129364-detail/story.html

Hi Toby, I was hoping to avoid it! I think we could add signatures of those who aren't able/can't be bothered to go through the process - there are a couple of people I could chivvy along. Do you know anyone? I was hoping for some signatures from people who live in the flats having given some leaflets to the chap that lives at number 1, but no joy yet. If anyone is friendly with any of the residents perhaps that could give a nudge. Best, Jenny

Fully agree something has to change. In particularly for residents who want to park during the day and are currently uncertain if they will still find a space. Other councils have adopted a system whereby permits are required for an hour during mid morning only therefore reducing the number of vehicles that are left parked all day.

Hi Jenny, great idea with this petition. Have you thought about going door-to-door? Can we add paper-based signatures to the on-line signatures? Happy to help do this if so. Toby

All for this. Resident at number 8 Worcester Road and its a nightmare trying to park during the day, both during the week and at weekends.

I fully support this idea and would prefer to have visitors permits too. Thank you for organising this.

We have lived on Hardwicke Road for nearly 18 months and have been made to feel very much at home by the neighbours. We love the proximity to the town and the station. Parking has become a huge problem for us. If I return home from work during the day because I have to go into London by train I can't find anywhere to park, which is frustrating to say the least. A weekday permit scheme that allowed vouchers for visitors would be hugely beneficial in my view.

Weekday permits are a great idea. It's so difficult to find a parking space during the day and this would be a great improvement. I fully support the application for permits. Thank you for organising this and let me know if there is anything we can do to help.

I agree with all the comments to date. I have probably lived in Hardwicke Road longer than most and the parking situation has got steadily worse over the years. Whilst we expect it to be busy due to the excellent location, it's got to the point where you are reluctant to move your car during the day as you know there will be no spaces on your return. As well as vouchers for visitors, any scheme would need to accommodate the fact that many households will through necessity have 2 cars.

I fully support the proposed scheme. I am at home with a toddler for three days during the week and find it impossible to park on our return if we go out between 9-5:30pm. I always have to take the buggy with me for every car journey in case we have to park streets away on our return. I would happily pay for parking vouchers for visitors to park for short periods if this could be part of the scheme. Thank you for organising this. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

I think permits are a great idea, I have just finished maternity leave and work shifts, so am constantly coming and going at all different times of the day. I find the parking situation very frustrating (and stressful at times), so weekday permits would be a saving grace. Thank you for starting this scheme.

I agree, almost impossible to get a parking space during the week. Weekday permits welcomed.

I agree it is almost impossible to get a carpark during the week and is really hard when you have a young child and haveto carry multiple items to and from the car which is parked in another street
