I have compiled the data regarding commuter traffic patterns and submitted a formal request for a meeting with the local planning department. They have acknowledged receipt of our materials and will provide a timeframe for a site assessment. My focus is now on drafting the specific permit zone map to ensure our residential needs are prioritized over station parking.

The volume of support for this parking scheme has officially reached a level that the local council can no longer ignore. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the transport department to demand a review of the commuter impact on our streets.

This is a great move and one which I wholeheartedly endorse. Securing parking for the residents of these two roads increases safety especially for those with child considerations and the less physically able. If this means we can allow our kids to ride a bike locally too that would be great! This feels like the right move for us as a community and one which is long overdue. I agree wholeheartedly with the proposal for residents' parking in Hardwicke and Worcester Roads Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. The parking situation has deteriorated significantly over the past few years and is now intolerable. I would be happy to pay an annual administration charge to operate the scheme. The opportunity to buy a visitors' parking voucher (or similar) would also be helpful.
Residents over the shops add to the problem
Reduce the traffic flow, reduce the amount af cars parking in the road, hence reduce the danger to crossing school children.

....things are about to get a LOT worse!!! See below link, the upshot by my counting is that c. 18 spaces will disappear on Yorke Road, therefore, pushing the problem to the neighbouring streets which will materially effect Hardwicke/Worcester. Yorke will become even more of a rat run feeding through Hardwicke, which in itself will raise additional safety concerns. I have 2 babies and don't feel I can use my car during the week as unable to park anywhere near my house
