Maybe the powers that be should all come to Northwestern Ontario and drive on the highways here and see how they like putting their lives at risk!

Driving to conditions and winter tires are not helping! A sprinkle of sand for 10 feet in the middle of the road around a corner is also NOT working! Im getting pretty sick and tired of putting my life at risk every single day just because something so simple as throwing sand or salt on the roads, is not being done!

All the highways in northwestern Ontario need to be maintained to a higher standard. Too many lives are lost due to insufficient sanding and salting on roads that are left snow covered and icy. This is not acceptable in southern Ontario; it should not be acceptable here!

You would think that weeks after a storm the road would be somewhat clear but not at all what so ever!! Terrible!! No reason for it!!

I travel up to Red Lake on a regualr basis. I was on the road at teh beginning of December and was appalled at the section between Vermillion Bay and Ear Falls.

When I lived in Red Lake I put a lot of miles on those roads. Once you got past Harry's Corner heading South in the winter it was pretty bad.

I've travelled that high way several times at all times of the year. Certainly not as much as some people but it's a tough drive in good weather during the summer. I can't imagine what it is like now. MTO has stated that the highways intheis are were maintained to the highest standards...that's right ...they were....they sure aren't now!

How many more lives have to be lost, before something is done about these Hwys in northern Ontario? I'm sure you would not want any of your family driving in these conditions! Or would you? This needs to be fix now not later!

Like other comments prior to mine, do the job correctly or bring back the MTO!
