Residents Against Ystrad Barwig Development - New Proposals

My concern with this proposed development is the impact it will have on the area. Whilst understanding the need for housing, simply building more housing without improving the local environment is merely allowing the builders to profit with no consideration for the affect on residents. One wonders whether they would be so keen to build if they are also required to improve the local amenities such as feeder and main roads. The long awaited bypass is already clogged at peak times. Local schools are already overcrowded perhaps the cost of a new primary school to serve the overflow, and additional children this and previous development has/is sure to create might cause the developers to reconsider. Of course additional medical facilities would also be required to alleviate any further impact on the existing surgeries. Without clear and concrete plans to address these concerns, that does not place the additional cost on to existing residents, permission should not be granted.

Please do not approve this application due to flooding issues.

The area can not cope with another large development and WG said no last time - get the message llanmoor!

No more houses in this area, traffic is already congested, schools are full. GP's are full. Local wildlife will suffer and air and noise pollution will rise. Thank you

No should mean no. Damage to local environment and area lacking the infrastructure to support such a development. Will lead to further developments that will destroy the area’s rural setting.

The schools, roads etc are already under pressure, and surely do not have the capacity to meet the needs of potentially 2000 additional people.

Not enough infrastructure. Schools already overcrowded, GP wait ridiculous in area. Flood risks. The bypass walk is one of the only recreational areas in Llantwit Fardre and walking around a housing estate will not be enjoyable. Bypass was originally supposed to be a dual carriage way. Downgraded due to money and now they want to put more pressure on surrounding roads. 450 houses - likely 900 more cars ! Brown land already been agreed locally but housing developers choose not to build there due to decreased profit, government should support the development so we are not left with derelict brown land and all our green land taken

Insufficient supporting infrastructure, roads, doctors, dentists etc. Plus I'm sure it's a flood risk area

With a massive development about to start on Llantrisant Road this will only add to travel problems, no new doctors or dentists plus the damage to the environment

Welsh Gov have refused permission, yet the developers are trying for planning permission another way. The infrastructure can't sustain any more massive housing developments.

Not enough schools drs in the area if they do build we need these first! And build affordable housing for the younger generation they've not got a chance to get on housing ladder!
