Residents Against Ystrad Barwig Development - New Proposals

build on the brown sites, not on the green belt!!!

I object in the strongest possible terms and hope that a modicum of common sense will prevail in that this proposal will be refused once more. There will be a huge impact on our already overburdened health services, schools and a monstrous increase in traffic conditions to name but three.

This new development will increase traffic, put pressure on exsisting service and take away the natural beauty of the area, which is a major factor in why we bought our house. The exsisting schools need more facilities and upgrading and if the council do not have this money how are they going to build and maintain a new school?

Way too many houses already, makes it impossible to get appointments at the local surgery.

This previously rejected application, now resubmitted does not and cannot show any improvements relating to Transport problems around this area. Already heavily overloaded services such as doctors, dentists and hospital services. So again I object most strongly to this resubmitted application.

There are enough houses planned in this area as it is there are no parks or play areas for children x there is a not enough schools and doctor surgerys ECT to support the amount of houses planned

As others have detailed, further development in local infrastructure; Public Transport and Traiffc Flow to the A470 and M4 for one. Need serious development before the area is populated even further.

I have not seen any improvement relating to Transport, Schools, Doctors or Hospitals, or protection of the natural habitat and flood plains from the previous application that was rejected by the Welsh Assembly. My views have always been we have reached saturation point in this area with housing without further investment in local amenities and Infrastructure.

I am dismayed that this application has been made again. The infrastructure of the area will find it difficult to support the 1000 (at least) new vehicles on the roads around this area. Living within hearing distance of the bypass we are already aware of heightened dust and pollution, an increase of which is inevitable and would not be at all welcome.

Ystrad Barwig Farm Even though the layout which forms part of the current considerations is in outline, it is apparent that at least some the standards being applied fall short of reasonable design requirements for this proposal for development of around 440 dwellings plus supporting facilities. For instance, a single access point comprising one carriageway is a traffic bottleneck and simply of inadequate capacity to cater for the proposed development. It is requested that the council, as planning authority, makes known the number of car parking spaces per dwelling that will be considered to be adequate in order that the proposal may qualify for approval. In addition to what may be labelled as normal day-to-day residents traffic, car parking congestion at school assembly and departure times can be practically guaranteed. Surely the situation around Garth Olwg at schooltimes provides a noteworthy example of this. Although of a temporary nature, it is suggested that the the ingress and egress of construction traffic on the already inadequate traffic capacity of Crown Hill is worthy of significant consideration if this application should reach a detailed stage.

Protect local wildlife. Roads can't cope as is why do developers think that a no answer can be changed if they just keep applying No should be No . save the countryside they ain't making any more of it !!! And if these plans go through how many more sights will be built along the bypass just look at the destruction caused on llantrisant road it would be the same

Let's protect local wild life and for once protect the habitat that is there . It's a flood plane and should not be built on , noise and pollution will be an issue lets stop lining greedy developers pockets !!!

Natural habitats for protected species will be destroyed, already established as a flood plane and sewage infrastructure could not cope with the demands . Leave the country side as it is and not destroy habitat that should be protected for these endangered animals

We are concerned that there is inappropriate infrastructure in place to support this development. The by-pass struggles with the amount of traffic using it, there is a current lack of GP Services to support additional population, as with schools, facilities in the area. The volume of traffic using Crown Hill has dramatically increased causing exiting and access problems to existing housing estates. The proposed development would only exasperate pre-existing flooding concerns and have a detrimental effect on the environment,

I don't think our infrastructure can cope with more people cars etc roads are jammed schools and doctors and hospitals are already full
