Let's get our facts straight! The definition of affordable housing already exists in the Zoning Ordinance and is just being re-codified. There are five floating zones permitted today by the ordinance. The proposed language clarifies the approval process and the performance standards for the floating zones. The draft language creates a Renewable Energy Overlay District, establishes performance standards that the alternative energy developments must meet and lays out an approval a process that includes review and input by residents.
