Development of Green projects is important. But we need review of each one. A hidden solar farm is much different from a giant windmill farm on the hill.

Mr. Deller,
You are the head of the Planning Department for Town of Johnston and can't "remember" who sponsored this modification ordinance and/or amendment ? Yet the residents are now being told that WE don't have our facts correct? Arnie mentioned that it was not sponsored by any council members, that is where I obtain that information.

I am very opposed to residents of this area not having say as to specific zoning and details of each and every development proposal within the limits of Johnston. I am all for the right kind of development but not at the destruction of our open spaces. Solar arrays if carefully planned are OK but given the size and non-descript definition of what a Renewable District is, I certainly will not allow wind turbines in this area like at the Landfill. I paid dearly to have the property that I own and don't want "affordable" housing and other zoning variances which will detract from my property value nor my neighbors. Keep Johnston as it is and let the residents decide on what is allowable and what is not.

Mayor Polisena continues to allow this town to be develop way beyond its means, all while we still have some of the highest taxes for homes and cars in the state. Don’t forget about AMAZON and it’s 4,000 cars who are purchasing the land in Hartford Ave by the Electric Power plant. The mayor can’t control the traffic as it is, but why should he care when he’s moving and building a million dollar house on Narrow river in Narragansett. The last thing this Town, or basically city, needs now is another Polisena being the next Mayor. Let’s defeat this land deal and the Amazon deal as well!
