I object to the Strode Development as currently presented, and agree with the objections to the proposed zoning changes. I also want to raise the question as to why this development plan was even taken into consideration by our City Council. This plan is so obviously not community friendly that we can but conclude that the developer has zero concern for the community. Furthermore, the community has informed City Council previously of its wishes for community friendly development when Strode's predecessor wanted approval for high rise development. Why is this taken under consideration again as if there is amnesia of our previous objections?

We should only consider changes that make our neighborhood a better place to live and raise our families.

Both safety and aesthetics would be compromised by the proposed development without the modifications described by this petition.

The last thing we need is more traffic. All for a re-development of this area just not in the scale that is proposed. A green space designed into the project would be a fantastic addition to this area.

I object re-zoning. It is not good for neighbors.

I agree with the petition. Height is an invasion of privacy and traffic cannot be supported.

I do not support the change in zoning for the Chase Bank site. I live two blocks from the intersection, and it is already a dangerous situation. The city has allowed the population density of SMU students to explode in this neighborhood with the building numerous multi-family condominium developments, and this added congestion would only further exacerbate the current problems in the neighborhood.

The infrastructure in and around Snider Plaza cannot safely support a development of this magnitude.

I have worked as a law professor at the SMU School of Law across the street from that building for 26 years. The Hillcrest Avenue-Daniel Avenue intersection is already a dangerous crossing for the many, many pedestrians that use it, and the increased traffic and especially the increased number of left turners at that intersection that the envisioned enlarged building would lead to would increase the risks and possibly lead to serious injuries or deaths. The current development guidelines already push the envelope a bit in that regard, in my opinion.
