RESIDENT PETITION FOR KERN RIVER VALLEY SPECIFIC PLAN TO RECOGNIZE HISTORICAL OHV USE & ACKNOWLEDGE ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE OF OHV USE IN KERN VALLEY
TO: County Board of Supervisors & Planning Department.
WHEREAS, among other mis-statements marginalizing OHV recreation, the draft Kern River Valley Specific Plan incorrectly states
The scale of this response has secured us a formal meeting with the Planning Department to discuss our objections to the draft plan. I am currently finalizing the evidence packet to ensure our arguments regarding historical OHV access remain the central focus of that discussion.

My family comes up here every summer specifically to ride. Its the only reason we visit the valley at all. Stop trying to push us out.

We have been riding these trails for decades. Dont take away our access because a few people moved here and want it quiet.

The local businesses rely on the tourism money from our group. If you shut down the trails you are just hurting the economy here.
