I normally don't sign petitions such as this, but this area is unique, crowded by both tourists, residents and business people and often smells from trash that is difficult to pick up. It cannot sustain this kind of enterprise.

This proposal is counterintuitve to all the hard work the city has done over the past 10 years to rebuild lower manhattan
this would be a disaster for quality of life of existing residents in this neighborhood. I also have concerns about the security threat that would be introduced to the neighborhood.

This kind of rowdy, suburban late night hang-out has absolutely no place in the dignified architecture of our increasingly residential neighborhood. The development of Lower Manhattan has been successful in large part because the quality of life appeals to people who respect the historic ambience here as well as each other’s lifestyles – including many of us who have children. It should be noted that the Alliance for Downtown New York aims to “provide workers, residents and visitors with a clean, safe and dynamic neighborhood.” Latitude 360 – an ugly, 1500 person occupancy bar, restaurant, night club and entertainment complex – does not fit that mandate and should be stopped. It is appropriate for Times Square not smack in front of George Washington’s face and the elegant façade of the NY Stock Exchange – right underneath our bedroom windows.

This is a landmark / historic neighbohood, do we really want a bump and grind club game place next to FEDERAL HALL?
