In my opinion, this area should be designated a National Park and co-marketed / connected along with George Washington Carver National Park. Doing so would highlight Dr. Carver’s love for nature in SW Missouri and his research of native plants in the region. This would highlight Wildcat Park as a tourism destination along with the unique exposure of the chert (bedrock) glades.

I grew up in the Redings Mill area and enjoyed playing baseball in Wildcat Park as a child and have enjoyed the trails and Audubon center since their construction. As a photographer based in Denver, it's always nice to come home and get some nice nature shots on the trails. This is a staple for Joplin and I appreciate the efforts to protect it.

We absolutely love the nature center at Wilcat Glades and the park as well! I take my kids there at least once a week. They have learned a lot about native animals, birds and plants, recycling, green building and our local environment. We would be heartbroken if we didn’t have this amazing place to visit!
