THE PETITION "RESCUE COLONEL THE DOG" HAS NOW BEEN PRESENTED.

To:
The Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP Secretary of State for Defence.

Dear Mr. Fallon,
I am in receipt of 2000 signatures for the successful petition "Rescue Colonel The Dog". And so I am forwarding this public plea, and this petition to you, in the hope that it may be worthy of consideration by the Ministry of Defence.

The military working dog, named 'Colonel' is a soldier. As a soldier, and prisoner of war, an attempt has to be made to rescue him. "No soldier left behind." He is personnel, not equipment.
We, the undersigned, ask that you will persuade relevant departments of the Ministry of Defence, to mount an operation -whether covert or overt -to get this loyal soldier back into his home territory.

Thank you for your attention,

Yours sincerely,

Sylvia Groves....

Get him home. He deserves to be Rescued just like any other Soldier because that is what he is. He didn't have the choice in serving, he was made/trained to be a Soldier and serve, so all the more reason to rescue Colonel. To save him because it wasn't his choice. He deserves to be home and safe.

This is still an issue and needs action. The UK Govt took him into the country. It now needs to honour its responsibilities.

This K-9's life is worth the same as a soldier's. Why haven't the coalition forces rescued their soldier from the enemy's hands? I abhor the treatment this loyal warrior ISN'T getting from the media!

A country is judged by its treatment of animals. Will the UK show its conern for this dog, which was working for British forces, or not?

Military dogs do such a valuable job for our forces. And yet it seems that little or nothing is done to help or rescue them if they are captured in the line of duty. Please take this opportunity to reverse this policy and get this brave dog back home.

Please value his life as of those humans also captured during combat. He is not dispensable. He deserves to come home and be reunited with his handler. I can only imagine the pain both are going through as the days go by. We the public do not know the key players responsible for making his rescue. I hope this on the top of their agenda.
