This reminds me of strip mining in West Virginia - same concept - ruining everything.

Because I care about our town and think there is a better place for this. The town is not benefiting enough from this. Why should another state profit from our destroying of our land?

This is all at my house. I do not want solar panels that we can't even use at my house. I like the woods and the wildlife. This is stupid. We need to get it shut down.

Please do not destroy the beauty of Candlewood Mountain! I'm all for solar but there are more appropriate places to put 75,000 panels! No need to destroy woodlands and wildlife!

I am against this project. It is a bad deal for the town. Its a pilot with no guarantees of long term tax dollars. There is a huge tax loss at the start of the project with only a few thousand dollars for the town. Given the 89.4 acres and the towns tax loss per acre, this makes no sense. It is a loss of revenue for the town and the energy is being sold to Mass.

This is not the place for solar power sprawl. Find an area that is more suitable. We must be the voice for the ecosystems and wildlife that will suffer irreparable harm from this project.

The New Milford Farmland Preservation Committee issued a list of conditions that should be implemented if this project moves forward. Not a single one is included in the current proposal and unmitigated damage to important farmland will occur as a result. Simply unacceptable.

I believe that the ecological damage and wildlife displacement resulting from clear-cutting a mountain would negate any possible solar benefits.

Please do not allow this project to get passed. Clear cutting approximately 70 acres of land for a Solar plant is not worth the damage it will do to the land.

Why would the solar developer choose the top of an undeveloped mountain, visible widely, instead of Century Brass, our 60+ acre brownfield site, crying for green/clean investment? Because the mountain-top comes dirt-cheap and Ameresco would have enough land to do phases two and three. Wake up New Milfordites. With their big break on property tax payments over the next decade+, you, as a tax payer are subsidizing their profits. Hugely. And at just a moment when our town stands to lose millions from state monies going away as the state wrestles with its sagging economics.

Do not allow Candlewood Mountain to be destroyed for financial profit!! There are better sites for this solar power project that would not include clearcutting of woodlands and devastation of wildlife.

I live right behind Candlewood Mountain Rd - what is proposed will ruin this area not to mention the wildlife - where do they go once their homes ares destroyed? What right do we have to so much damage to the environment - these people MUST be stopped. There are other wide open places where they can put these monster solar panels - that won't even help reduce costs to anyone. New Milford MUST act -

I'm all for Green, Clean, Renewable energy, but there is a time and place for everything. Chopping down a forest is not the answer and will NEVER be the answer. I've grown up in New Milford, but have since relocated to Park City, UT. A town committed to run on 100% renewable electricity for city operations by 2022, and for the whole community by 2032. New Milford, you have a lot to learn...
Here's some options you should consider MAYOR that we're doing in our town that would benefit yours WITHOUT DEFORESTATION!
