why doesn't the city pay for the cats and dog who are homeless to spay and neuter.. end of problem any one can help feed them..

I have 19 fereal cats and love and care for them everyday they are very living and very good animals why would you deny an animal the right to life it's a very terrible thing you want to make a law make one where vets are not so damn expensive and those animals would not be roaming free it's ridiculous the price to take care of an animal you should be ashamed of yourselves to even think of such a terrible thing!!! We feed hungry homeless people don't we maybe we shouldn't do that either such selfish and heartless people think of crap like this !!!

This is a violation of Constitutional rights and freedom of religion. "Man has no preeminence above beast," and to love and protect all living beings. HOW CAN THEY MAKE HEATHEN LAWS IN THE USA

I think that ignoring feral cats or street cats and not feeding them is cruel. You should focus on trap, neuter, release efforts to control any unwanted cat populations instead of killing them or starving them. Anyone who agrees with this "no feeding feral cats" policy is a horrible human being and needs to seriously rethink things.

This law is nothing short of animal abuse and cruelty. TNR does work ! Personally think
the efforts of the city should be to focused on the horrible drug problem we have here. The people feeding these poor abandoned souls should be championed instead of penalized for their kind deeds. This law is just going to see many animals suffer due to the weather or lack of substance. This law isn't going to slow down the number of animals that are being abandoned every day from the irresponsible people who are abandoning these poor innocents, it's just going to cause unnecessary death, pain and suffering to animals. The city of Plattsburgh should be ashamed of themselves !

This is wrong! Imagine being that little kitten/cat. All you are trying to do is survive! You finally get the chance to be loved and eat something, but some selfish people take that opportunity away from you! This should be counted as animal cruelty! We the people in the community should have the right to provide food to an animal! Some of us are not able to provide a shelter to them for reason of being allergic or simply not having space! There are others who just don’t want to see the cat going without a meal so they provide a meal, but cannot provide it with help from a veterinarian. Put yourself in the shoes of the animal. Imagine not knowing when your next meal will be and how you are going to get it! We are not the only living things on Earth! There are living things much like that cats who are trying to survive! I am asking you as a high school student, please end this law! Many of us do not want to see them go without.

The feral cat issue should be budgeted for by the City of Plattsburgh in the same way that the stray and homeless dog problem is supported with taxpayers' money. Equal financial consideration should be given the feral cat problem. Legislation designed to punish caring individuals who feed homeless cats does little to solve this long-term issue. Instead, the City needs to step up and budget monies for local organizations to continue their good work with Trap, Neauter, Release programs and adoption strategies. Another solution is for the City to budget monies that low income taxpayers can apply for to fund spay/neuter vet costs. Unfunded legislative mandates do not work at the state or the local level!
