Hope the Mayor and the members of the Council don't want to be reelected. I'd never vote for them.

This is cruel, we are allowed to feed birds and squirrels but not a hungry cat! Be kind,if they are there and you can afford it feed them.

They’re innocent animals and don’t deserve to be starved just because they were left in the streets by a heartless person

This is the most ridiculous cold hearted law I have ever heard!! Another solution you may ask? Sure I have one. How bout a town budget and fundraisers to catch these poor animals that didn’t ask to be born because of human neglect? Are you feeding them?? No... warm hearted individuals donate their time and money. This infuriates me

I understand that the lawmakers were hoping to reduce their stray population by passing this law however, you will make your city look heartless and cruel. Instead of trying to starve your stray population out of existence maybe try TNR (Trap Neuter Return). This is a much more effective method than starvation. This current law is only allowing the population of strays and feral cats to continue to rise because while the animals may starve, they can still breed. If the lawmakers had done their research before passing such a law, there wouldn’t be such an uproar in the community.

This law will not solve the problem of the overpopulation of cats. It will not solve ppl abandoning their cat to starve/ freeze to death. And, it can't be enforced bc compassionate ppl will continue to feed starving cats, investigation and prosecution will be costly and time consuming if the person arrested pleads Not Guilty.
