Rescind the Plattsburgh Law to NOT feed stray cats

This is so cruel and imhumane. So many animals die because of senseless people. It is so wrong to just let them starve. They never asked to be a stray, they never asked to be homeless. Feed those babies and help them live. We are supposed to be the most intelligent species. But we are indeed the most stupid. We are the ones ruining our world and killing all the beautiful creatures in it. We need to all learn to respect nature and let them live. If all animals in this world go extinct so do we. So be nice to them. Respect nature and FEED THOSE BABIES. They do not deserve to starve. This is a problem that WE CREATED! All those poor babies need is to be taken in and brought to a shelter or rescue where they will be taken care of. And start to TNR. They need to spay or neuter these poor babies to decrease the number of feral cats in the community! This isn't right help them instead of letting them starve!!!!!!

This is a City ordinance that contradicts NY State Animal Cruelty Statue. Article 26... Cat are territorial, they will still exist with out a food source.. Its cruel & inhumane to enforce starvation.. If you want to make a positive impact, enforce NY state animal cruelty laws, focus as well on abandondment, and push tnr programs.. This ordinance also deters rescues/compassionate individuals who have been successful with tnr, vaccinating, altering, testing, resicializing & rehoming these felines who by no fault of their own but caused by irresponsible pet owners.. This ordinance should as well include canines...

Does this go for dogs too? The piece mention dogs but cats are the ones being mentioned! NO animal deserves to be unfed or homeless! Go after the people who throw their animals away because they are moving or they just don't want the animal anymore. Any politician who is voted out of office need to be thrown away, starved & left homeless. Politicians are so dumb which makes them sorta useless!!!

I do not agree that we should not feed any feral cats. It is horrible to let them starve period.. there should be more help with neutering and shots..so many helpless animals suffer senseless deaths...

This Law is horrible!!!! How about starving the lawmakers and see how they like it ? Mayor Read , How about fining the people who have animals that just leave outside un vaccinated, un fed and un spayed or unneutered to bring more into this world, to end up the same way. Rather than punish the ones trying to at least make sure they don't die from starvation, How would you feel if no one ever fed you and had no way to feed yourself? Not very good I bet. Get rid of this crazy law and find a better solution. Even if it means anonymous tips on people who do these things

How would the humans pushing for this like to be one of those animals that gets thrown out of the house or left behind out in the elements to fend for themselves when they have been and inside animal. I say we make them live the life and experience no kindness from anyone.

What kind of cruel person comes up with a law this heinous? These cats did not ask to be abandoned, left on their own. Sometimes a kind person giving them a helping hand is all that stands between them and a horrific death. What is WRONG with you people?

All the more reason for these beautiful cats that were let down by their irresponsible owners not to trust people. Shame on whomever made this law. These cats will suffer a painful death if you enforce this law. You should be thanking the kind people that are willing to take care of them.

I always use Plattsburgh as an example of how people help stray cats. We trapped, neutered, and fed and put up for adoption many cats. I was proud that so many people in Plattsburgh cared about them. At Lakeside we rescued at least 100 cats. We took them to Vermont where they were neutered and had shots. Vermont did this service for free, because they cared about Plattsburgh cats and wanted to help them.. We put most up for adoption at Petsmart. When Lakeside was flooded most of the cats were gone to homes. At the time of the flood, people would not leave their apartments and leave the cats. That is when the Red Cross set up different rooms for pets so people would come to the shelter. It was such a miracle as we waded the waters to save cats. God cares about his creation. Why don"t you. Its time to make it the law that home cats must be neutered. Its time to punish abandonment of animals. Its time for you to stop punishing the animals and the people who care and help them.
