A better solution to the feral and stray animal problem is not to try and Starve them out (which is animal cruelty, BTW). Offer Spay/Neuter assistance for feral colonies which will reduce the population of the ferals, and any damage an unfixed animal may cause (ie. spraying). Feeding the animals ensures they are not hungry enough to tear apart trash bags and create huge messes.

This law is cruel and inhumane. Instead of attempting to decrease the cat population through starvation, promote TNR!

Trap, spay or neuter and release to keep the population under control, but keep them fed. How cruel can a city be? Ferrel cats should not be starved to solve a problem created by humans. Shame on you Plattsburg!!!

This is ABSOLUTELY the wrong way to "fix" your " cat problems " created by people!! Talk to the people that know and can help you humanely fix this with TNVR. Trap, neuter, vaccinate, release.

All animals need food. It is not these cats' fault they are homeless and hungry. Do not be so inhumane!

Feed them, get them spayed or neutered and rabies shots, then you did your part. One is better than none to be fixed.
Too many cats!! Cut the population down. Get Vouchers at SPCA to help with cost!

Leaving animals out to starve and die is not the answer. Please provide funding to local TNR programs. Please help the elderly and those with low incomes with programs to have their pets altered. Please offer educational services to your constituents about the positives of having a sterile pet. Lastly prosecute those who abandon their cats. They prosecute dog abandonment but turn a blind eye when it comes to our feline friends.

This law would force people to be inhumane. Wouldn't it make more sense to assist agencies to catch (spay and neuter) and release these cats? Starving these cats would only add to the problem. The stench of dead animals would bring coyotes, and such , to area communities....making neighborhoods unsafe for children, and family pets. Promote responsible behavior toward animals. (The HUMANE SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS should be all over this!!!!!) This law is shameful, and it elicits a negative feeling toward officials who act before they think.

Show some compassion, these poor defenseless cats didn’t ask to be put in this situation.

You know society has lost its humanity when we hold animals responsible for the sins of people
