There are other solutions than leaving these poor animals to starve to death. Try having some compassion and empathy. People may not be able to afford to take them in and get the vetted but can still show them love by giving food. Try the programs other cities have adopted like the trap spay/neuter release program. Or perhaps making the laws on dumping animals more severe. We ended up with 30 cats at one point because people would drive them into the boonies and dump them. It's ridiculous

This law is not the answer, especially when so many people across our country discard their “pets.” Yes, the people who discarded their cat should be held accountable. We know those people are never going to be tracked down. What will be the city’s answer when they start seeing dead cats? The answer should be more humane. At least a trap, neuter, and release program should be started to stop more strays being born. It is wrong to punish the animal for something that was out of their control. The Councilman who suggested the law should know that its wrong and cruel. The majority who voted in favor should be ashamed.

If the cats or dogs were house animals that were left on the streets why punish them for it it's not there fault and a lot of them dont know how to live own there own cause they are use to being fed it's not right for you to punish them for something there previous owner did

This new law is inhuman and needs to be stopped! I foster animals because of the fact that they are throw ways! I believe that it should be allowed for anyone to feed a stray cat and dog. Especially now with winter coming. Please let’s get this law revoked!

How can you be so cruel. These cats and dogs end up on the streets because of HEARTLESS HUMANS who all the sudden no longer want them and toss them outside. Shame on you for making such a law!

It is our job to take care of them as we humans are who caused this to happen. If everyone that had or has a cat or cats had them neutered/spayed/fixed there would not be so many stray, feral and homeless cats. Shame on anyone that feels differently!

Not feeding feral cat's is something I wouldn't think could be possible because of a law.Don't these people realize how these cat's live as it is.And now no food.Who is the one that thought of this should definitely live outside this winter and starve besides! Pathetic

All if the cats I have ever had were from the street. I have one inside now and one that I feed inside but she prefers to be outside. She cannot have babies. I will feed her until one of us dies. It’s just the right thing to do.

If people who love animals want to help them survive that is their right. If others who don't love animals want to sop this they should be publicly shamed and outlawed. If they are elected officials vote them out of office, GET RID OF THEM!
