Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

I am all for responsible infill but these six and eight plexes replacing a single family home is out of control.

Anyone seriously signing this position is a complete loser. Just say you hate your neighbours and move out to Beaumont or somewhere without the perks of living in a big city. Pathetic.

It is horrible the type of permits that greedy home builders have been allowed to build. I’m not against infill but done properly. You are ruining our beautiful neighborhoods.

We love our neighborhood and we really would like it to stay the way it is.

8 plex on former residential lot is horrendous in our mature neighborhood! Good luck with future neighbours being welcoming, helpful and kind.

Edmonton city councillors and mayors have frequently demonstrated themselves as shills for the developer business. In that role, they have destroyed much of Edmonton's past. Bylaw 20001 and the proposed amendment threaten to destroy much of Edmonton's future.

The fact that we don’t have builders/homeowners going about the neighborhood with permits and letters stating what they are doing is just so wrong on all accounts. Ruining mature neighborhoods with obscene buildings is not how to make housing affordable. Quite the opposite actually as you will end up lowering the actual cost of the bungalows that are there. More intelligent thinking and common sense needs to be addressed by the City and the builders. The City also needs to be accountable for these terrible decisions and to also include the neighborhood that is outright affected.

Developers are given priority over neighborhood concerns. Multi unit homes should not be allowed in the middle of blocks. There should be a cap on heights of these units as well. I wonder if city council has these infills in their own neighborhoods!

So tired of resident voices not counting when it comes to monstrosities being built in our neighbourhoods.

Consultation with the taxpayer and community residents is not taken seriously. The mayor and council need to reconsider.

Imagine living beside one of these monstrosities. Your property value decreases to lot value. You lose all privacy in your yard. You lose sunlight in your yard. The streets are jam packed with vehicles. There are better ways.

The current zoning laws are turning our neighborhoods into unattractive areas that will not attract new people to our city.

I have a infill 2 door from me duplex in a 25 foot lot and they have 5 to 6 cars and trucks were fitting for parking and the house south of me will be a infill to one day and I won't get any sun or privacy either i don't like the inconsideration the city has for the residents that there effecting

Thank you for all your efforts to protect Edmonton from developers whose intention is not to build and preserve a beautiful city.

Densification is fine if done properly. There needs to be insight, and forethought into any densification developments in any neighbourhood, especially mature ones. This City Council has neither forethought, or insight. Our Neighbourhoods are being destroyed.

These new zoning bylaws are disgraceful and changing a vibrant city into ghetto. There is room for everything and anyone but done through proper planning not by knee jerk reactions to a housing crisis caused by poor hindsight planning.

We moved to Glenora 34 years ago when it was a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Stop allowing anything to be built. The neighborhood has been ruined.

It's needs to stop. We've lost 4 hours a day of sunlight on our deck since the City allowed a monstrous house to be built next door. Our bedroom is also darker because of the height they built it. We are compared 'lucky' to others who are having multi units built. Quality if life, the City doesn't care. I wonder how many City Councillors have an infill next to their house!!!

We need to have city council working for the taxpayers, not ignoring us.

I am not against infill, but would like to see reasonable smaller developments to incorporate better with existing neighborhood structures.
