These infills are disgusting to people in the neighbourhood. There is no privacy, no sunlight to grow food or flowers, no parking. Our older neighbourhoods are beautiful with character homes and history. Now there are gross skinny homes and apartment complexes mixed into the historic homes. Why are there mansions allowed on huge lots in new communities while the city is ruining our beautiful older neighbourhoods. It is ugly and disgusting and why do current homeowners have no rights in this matter?!

The rapid densification we are experiencing is NOT gentle, it is brutal. Neighbourhood context, parking, infrastructure, mature trees, etc need to be taken into consideration. When you invest in a single family property, pour countless dollars into renovating/creating an oasis for your family…and paying extremely high property taxes..how is it fair that you now may have 8 or 16 units staring into your backyard? We saved for years to move away from an apartment building into a quiet neighbourhood and now the quiet small town feel of Edmonton is being systematically dismantled. But city councillors “want to cram” (Andrew Knack direct quote) our neighbourhoods and are doing it in an irresponsible way.

For the city it's all about making money. We live next to a two story duplex. Took all our south sun and then the roof problems started. Ice dams. First year. Icicles all along south side and roof damage. So an unnecessary expense on our part. Does the city care no. All there roof water drains north onto our property every spring. So I have a sidewalk on my south side that gets full of water or ice depending on temp during the spring melt. I have lived in this home since I was 31. We put a brand new basement in and everything was perfect. I am now 65 and feel very pressured to move. The house on my Northside was sold. We are quite concerned what is going to be built there. An apartment that stares into our yard. Lots of until in Inglewood and some are very big and some face towards the house next door. We need to be heard. We are getting run out of our neighbourhoods by the city and their greed to make and spend money at an alarming rate. Don't even get me started on the stupid wide sidewalks.

It's not hard to figure out why the city is doing it, it's money hungry because it's incapable of not spending endlessly. My lot is 50x150 in Inglewood with a 820 sq ft home. My property tax this yesr is now $4000. The city will get at least $4000x 8 on an 8 suite with from my lit. That's a $28,000 increase for the city. They're only doing it for one reason, they're making a lot of money. It needs to stop and we need to toss out the mayor and councillers thus Oct.

The difference between residential and apartment building codes should be looked at. RS and RSM may have the same units as apartments…. But only require residential services…not commercial

I support density -but how much is too much? My neighbourhood already has more rentals than most other neighbourhoods and we are getting mediocre buildings with no respect for scale, no planning for a good community, often the cheapest construction, poor design, no parking consideration, a lot more crime and no sunlight or privacy from a huge wall bearing down on the existing homes. The lack of consultation from the City to many central neighbourhoods is shameful.

I have a 66 foot lot.Investors from Vancouver want it. I would be disgusted if some of the cheap looking buildings would be put on this property which faces the beaitiful park going to Millcreek Ravine. The designs that are going up everywhere are purely for profit and the lowest cost for the builder.
There are beautiful building designs that do not destroy a community

“Community engagement” meetings that are just info sessions on what you WILL BE DOING. The misguided notion that we don’t need our cars. We need some common sense which seems a hard thing to come by. I am selling and getting out now before Park Paving breaks my front window, foundation or sewer and I have to sue to get restitution. Do better!
