Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

* Parking needs to be included. While they are trying to get people to use transit, most are still using vehicle(s). The fourplex across from me has 11 vehicles between the four units that all park on the street. * There needs to be more transparency about potential conflict of interest for council - what ties do they, or their friends/family, have about building these new infills and garden suites * Affordability is what "they" are saying is driving this. Who can afford to build these multi-plexes? and how many will be owner occupied? They are driving the prices up, both of the build itself and the rent for the units. * Densification without supporting services? A recipe for disaster!

Ridiculously huge infill being built on single lots jeopardizing sewer lines, no provisions or contingencies for the need for extra parking, and aesthetically unattractive ‘boxes’ jeopardizing the character of established and mature areas. Destruction / removal of existing trees seems counter intuitive to our city’s usual stance.

The scale and style of recent infield development is completely out of character with the surrounding neighborhood. I am disheartened for myself and my neighbours who have invested both financially and emotionally in our homes in neighborhoods. It’s difficult not to feel that developers—many of whom lack long-term commitment to the communities they’re building in—are being prioritized over the voices of existing residents.

We need to put the old guidelines back in effect.

Older neighbourhoods character should be preserved. Parking is an important aspect of planning. It should be mandated. No one would walk in -40C

Increased housing density is ok so long as it is keeped together in designated clusters and out of mature neighborhoods.

* The burden upon our the already aging infrastructure for 16 families replace one is very concerning. 16-32 individuals showering, laundry. Consider electrical for A/C mid-summer or heating mid-winter * Street congestion and safety An 8-plex property has no garage for 16 families. Where will the 16-32 vehicles owned by these families be parked? Consider rush hour where vehicles must wait at the end of a street because there is only one lane flow because cars are parked, solid on both sides. It is already difficult, especially in winter

This zoning bylaw is a developer free-for-all, that is destroying neighborhood character, without any urban planning for thought.

This poorly thought out policy will destroy the character of many residential neighborhoods. The only group to benefit will be property developers.

Streets here are already packed with cars and you can not make them any wider

Responsible development supercedes the insane selfish needs of this ego driven council.

Changing the bylaws about land zoning should go to referendum vote do each citizen has their say in this decision as it affects us so greatly

The city should hold a referendum on decisions like this, every hard working tax payer should have their input on decisions that affect their property!

Having major drainage issues in our street due to excessive infill. Very frustrated

A standard was established for a good reason, as they fall, so does our city. You are ruining great neighborhoods by complying the whims of developers. Disgusting, thanks for putting the citizens first.

Why not force the oldest areas of Edmonton to build single family homes for entry level buyers. Some of these areas need a refresh so they don't become total slums. These areas also could help refresh downtown which at the moment is run by homeless people with "issues" leaving garbage and smashed business windows. In addition mandatory off street parking should be reinstated. With additional infill people and no off street parking you are not helping emergency vehicles at all.
