Please stop the insanity, the current infrastructure cannot handle double or triple the building. Why doesn’t city hall listen to the taxpayers?????

The zoning bylaw is destructive for those that own a home in an older neighbourhood. Single family homes are being replaced with 8 to 12 unit rental apartments on a regular basis. This destroys the community in so many ways it's hard to describe in just a few words. The Mayor and Council have failed the people they were elected to represent.

I’m dismayed at the indiscriminate and blunt force of the zoning regulations. It shows a complete disregard for a healthy and inviting neighbourhood. I thought Edmonton was trying to embrace good design and planning - not uglify the city with an open door policy to any kind of development that makes developers a good return. Btw - I am for sensible densification of mature neighbourhood .

I have 3 of those 8 units being builded next to me.I don't like it. I wrote my alderman but didn't get a reply. This should NOT be happening.

Absolutely critical that this is addressed immediately! Soon there will be no mature trees left!

The failures of zoning bylaw 20001 are clear. Viable housing is being bought for $400, 000 - 800, 000 , torn down and sold as 2 or more houses for $1,000,000 each - that is not making more affordable homes for families. That is lining developers pockets. in Malmo we already have densification occurring, there is no need to destroy the character of our neighbourhood. Michener Park is being redevloped, the golf lands continue to add high density housing units and the west 240 is being developed into a neighbourhood that will have more housing that the surrounding 4 neighbourhoods combined. The increase in traffic and strain on our infrastructure will be at a maximum.

The City Plan, zoning bylaw and district policy and plans were developed without sufficient community engagement and consent. All should be repealed.

Lot splitting is one thing. Building six to nine units beside a single dwelling in a mature neighbourhood is simply too much. This is not responsible infill development.

All mature trees are being clear cut, there are no plans for green spaces, traffic safety, parking. Infills are ridiculously expensive so families cannot afford them, communities and schools are being killed off by irresponsible Cite Council who are lazy and controlled by developers. WE PAY YOUR SALARIES AND PENSIONS> DO YOUR JOBS!!!

Sorry to hear this. Yes, sadly the old house next to us is for sale and it has a forest in the yard where birds like to visit. Sadly if developers buy it it will be a six plex for sure. Dismissing Environmental concerns of displacing birds out of habitat is really sad too.

No consideration is taken on the size of these infills. One lot in particular is going to have seven residences with only four off Street parking. Any additional parking will have to be on the street and this is right on a bus route @ Sherbrooke Avenue and 131 Street

I fills like the multiple houses, apartments with NO or little parking are not improving the city.

The 3 storey 8 plex planned for 5 houses away is completely inappropriate for the character of the community, made up of single family dwellings. It has no planned parking and is much larger than any other residence.

I am very concerned about all the houses being torn down in my neighbourhood, and seeing large MDU's built in them. Across the alley from where I live, 2 houses were torn down and a 25 unit complex is being built there. The height of the unit will block the sun. I'm also conerned about the increased street parking & noise from the multiple residents moving in. With the city installing bike lanes in our neighbourhood, it changes the road in front of our building to a one lane from what used to allow 2 lanes for traffic and space for cars to be parked on one side of the lane. I strongly suspect with the bike lane we'll only have one driving lane. I don't like what I'm seeing happening in this neighborhood. In another bldg. I've seen under construction, it extends almost right up to the city sidewalk and the alley. On the sides it's approximately 1.5 from the neighbours property. Don't we have laws in place to govern this and to help deter fires from spreading to the neighbouring properties??

Please do not destroy our neighbourhood with random infill projects. The city should consult with Neighbours prior to any project being approved.

There are better ways to provide extra housing besides pulling down perfectly good corner lot houses in favour of huge multiplex buildings. BTW, little or no inspection on these new builds. Not enough inspectors or not enough political will. Shame on city council.

These new 4-8 unit residents are destroying the very reason we bought in this neighbourhood. It's not okay wipe out the character and quiet peacefulness we all enjoy.

Absolutely shocked by the lack of future proofing and city planning. It is impossible to understand how in a single family Neighbourhood you can build multi story units in the middle of a family street. I have lived in many cities and many countries all of them rated excellent places to live. This approach by the city is creating an immature, backward, and anti-community culture and is worse than anything I’ve ever seen before. It removes pride in the city and Edmonton needs to stand by some stronger values for future generations.

Okay with higher density but against unbridled and deregulated development posing as building affordable housing.
