Blanket rezoning is a joke and it needs to stop

No to 8 suite apartments.. and city is allowing NO Onsite parking!! So that means I may never get to park in front of my house again! And why as a measly home owner , was I required to put in a driveway large enough for 2 cars when my garage wad build but developer gets to do anything they want? What about sewer pipes made for single family homes?

We need to stop this reckless destruction of our mature neighbour hoods.

The developers are the ones making money. They buy the lot for 400000 and sell their 8 plex for over 2 million. Rent is over $2000/unit this is not helping the renters but the developers. They don’t care about the neighborhood but the dollar they can make. I had bought a place in the Bonnie Doon area loved it until they built in the middle of the block a 4 plex with 4 basement suits and a 2 suite garage. Sorry but this is destroying the look of the neighborhood I have since sold it as I saw how the developers treated the building process and I am glad as from what I can see the renters are also do not care about their space. It is sad that I now have to not only look at the house that I want to buy but also at my neighbors to be like well if they sell will a developer build a gigantic 8plex beside me again! You pushed me out of one home are you going to push me out of the city next??? There is numerous reasons that I love the Bonnie Doon area one of them being is that I am not glued to my neighbors. I bought the house and the larger lot. Spent more money but I want to keep it that way! Please think twice.

I don’t want any multi level homes built on empty lots. No parking for everyone. New roads and sidewalks are ridiculously planned.

Putting the care and design of our neighborhoods solely into the hands of for profit developers will lead to homes built exclusively with short term profit in mind.

I've been in discussions with Councillor Stevenson about the environmental, social, and infrastructure impacts of suddenly allowing eight units on a single lot. My concern is that this kind of significant change is being pushed through without meaningful feedback from residents. A more responsible approach would be to phase in the changes gradually—starting with four moving to six after analyzing that there is positive return then six units—and carefully evaluate the impact before moving to eight. Instead, we’re met with vague blanket statements and reassurances that “change is hard.” Change can be positive, but only if it’s implemented thoughtfully and with proper community input.

You’ve removed the citizens when you eliminated the appeals process.

We would like the new zoning bylaw revoked. Our neighborhood good the way it is, we cannot support extra housing.

The zoning needs to be changed back. The amount of traffic, speeding and parked vehicles in our neighbourhood due to infills and fourplexes is alarming. It’s no longer a safe neighbourhood for my child.
