This bylaws most be reversed in so many ways from rethinking number of units allowed in infills to reviewing what can blindly be put in a corner lot.
Homeowners are the ones who make the sacrifice.

8-plex units create massive logistical issues in their neighborhoods. Parking, garbage, blocking views etc. maybe near major transit hubs, but should be carefully controlled.

This needs to be done - the City’s current approach disregards a lot of people’s rights and is more destructive than constructive when it comes to renewing mature neighborhoods.

It is totally unacceptable what our city councilors allowed to happen in the Crestwood neighbourhood, and I'm sure several other mature established communities. To allow numerous 6 & 8 plex developments within a 2 block stretch on 95 Ave, and four 4 plex buildings on an inside corner bend lot with no garages was totally irresponsible. Where do all those residents park, how do they put their garbage containers 1 metre apart without being on their neighbours property. No rational to this.

I am an architect, originally from Amsterdam. I am all for density, but with overarching detailed quality control in place. The current zoning invites density with hardly any quality control in place. It's a recipe for disaster, and now well functioning neighbourhoods will be negatively affected. You cannot leave this to developers and builders. There primary concern is profit. Not quality. Thriving cities treat their built environment like a precious recourse. Not some free for all!

I live in a mature neighbourhood and am concerned that the character of my neighbourhood will be compromised, that infrastructure will be strained by too much densification, and that there will be crowding from too much street parking.

I live in the Crestwood community. We are being adversely affected by the irresponsible building of infill developments which will negatively impact the home owners who live here. On 95 avenue 6 multi unit complexes are either being built or slated to be built without adequate parking, room for garbage cans, or room for traffic to pass when the complexes are complete. Not to mention the devaluation of our properties and community.

This is such a disruptive approach to development. Certain;y, there are areas and properties in this city that are in poor disrepair and neglected that could use redevelopment. Why would this council insist on disrupting neigbourhoods that are well looked after and cared for only to create more eysores. Totally disrespectful to people who care about our city.

Infills and multi plexes have destroyed neighborhoods. No strategy by the City of Edmonton. Many poor builders. Character neighborhoods have lost their identity. Home owners are forced to sign Race to protect their neighbors.

I am a homeowner and am seeing the value of my property go down due to uncontrolled multiunit infill housing. My home is 19 years old and when we built it in Dovercourt, we had strict guidelines, which should have been continued. Multiunit infill should be limited to LRT and large transit centre areas.
