Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

We are leaving our wonderful old neighbourhood because of these dreadful projects. We have a horrendously ugly 7unit rental complex being proposed next door. Built by people who don’t necessarily bring with them best building practices to Canada.

Do not want this CORRUPTION to continue

responsible infills ensures a vibrant and engaged community for the good of persons who will move into infill housing and their established neighbours

I am completely opposed to the rezoning of the residential lots in our neighborhood

Infill take away the character of a neighborhood and bring the value of existing homes.

This rezoning bylaw is ridiculous. Our council shoved it down our throats and now we watch our property values drop..whilecour prorty taxes climb. Our roads, Transit system and so many other things are ignored ..oh..but they all got a raise for shafting us.

Please stop ruining our mature neighborhoods!!!!!

Why are you tring to take the sun away from us.Have you any idea how healthy sunlight is. I put solar up a few years ago...and to what end????

There is currently a 14 suite complex being built behind my house. We had no notice that this was going in and it completely shades the house next door, who were not given notice either. This city council is destroying mature neighborhoods by passing these bylaws allowing multi-unit buildings.

Please keep historical character of historical neighborhoods

This blanket zoning does not take into consideration privacy, heritage and parking considerations. There has been no consultations either.

City council does not respect our need for privacy, parking, or heritage preservation! 8 plexes or these multi unit dwellings do not belong in the middle of a residential area!

Older neighbourhoods being totally destroyed by towering 8 plexes. Allowing housing like Morningstar has absolutely destroyed the Capilano area. I feel so sorry for residents there. Crime is unbelievable … so sad and there has to be some better solutions

This bylaw is ruining neighborhoods, property value and peoples lives by building these monster buildings on single lots

We are Constantly being told that these are affordable housing units. How can they be affordable housing when they are selling for 8 hundred to 9 hundred thousand dollars.

It breaks my heart to see what the reasoning has down to the highlands community. I grew up in this neighbourhood and came back recently to watch the community lose its character. Some of the developments don’t fit with the feel of the neighborhood and have had a negative impact on not only the feel and look of the neighbourhood but has a negative impact on the value and draw of properties in the area. I am very disappointed in the City of Edmonton. There are certain things that showuld be left alone and preserve. The highlands area community has worked hard to maintain its character including the plaque program that identifies original owners of houses and makes for great discussion points while out enjoying the neighbourhood. Highlands is good as it is and there are other neighborhoods that can use new development. This is not the neighbourhood.

I am concerned that our neighborhood is being over developed without regard for the Highlands history and character. Mature trees are taken down, privacy is diminished, and close proximity of new houses and multi unit buildings present a fire risk.

Stop the erosion of our mature neighbourhoods. We were never consulted and the city needs more transparency.

We raised our family in Highlands 53 years ago. We are very angry at what the city is proposing for our neighborhood. Trying to pass it off as affordable housing is not working. You are destroying historical areas for tax dollars. I will voice my opinion when we have a municipal election. Several candidates will not be returning.

Westmount is being inundated by 8-9 unit buildings. The pace is unbelievable. Developers are swooping in and buying up virtually all modest bungalows on 50 wide lots.
