Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

Not nearly enough parking available for the number of people predicted to be living at the site. Decreases property values of the homes in the area. Increase in noise level due to number of tenants.

Control the infill, eliminate more than 4 units on a single family lot.

Mid-block multi-unit developments are a concern for all, and my concern it that they may impact resale values of properties adjacent to the new build.

in the last year our street has had three 8 plex, one 32 suite apartment, 8 skinny homes and 3 new buildings in progress. This is out of control and not sustainable. It needs to STOP NOW!!!

I don't think it is reasonable to build a 8 person complex with no planned parking space other than the street on what was a single family home given the impact on sewage, garbage disposal and other utilities.

Regardless of the financial consequences, I would like the city to revoke the permits given to the locations that are between houses immediately.

I was very unhappy to see that a great location for infill housing that wouldn't disturb old residential neighborhoods has instead been zoned for box store businesses. The old student housing at Whitemud Freeway and 122 St was torn down and instead of infill or high density housing taking its place, box stores are being built. Why was this permitted by the city when we're so short housing?

The current infill system must be stopped now

There is a house next to me with a massive elm tree in it. I hope it is not destroyed by an infill 8 plex. Poor birds

Infills are made huge ( price for each is 3.5 million dollars , 3 stores high Tax ( on my old house) is more then 12 000.00 per year . With all this infills and construction around and hight of new houses old houses are with no Sun light , not to mention there is almost no space between fence of old house and new construction , so old ,usually god wooden fence, ,sinks I the hole for new foundation. Not to mention trees ! I expect property tax to be lowered , since the value of my house it’s not what use to be … please stop the greed !!!

Them craming all of theses houses into a small area takes out the old and appealing look to homes in my area.

In the last year and a half we have had 3 -8 unit buildings, I- 4 story-44unit bldg ( this previously was 2 lots with houses), 1 -6unit building mid block ( previously 1 house on this lot), 6 skinny’s ( where previously sat 3 houses). All this within two blocks radius with no accommodation for parking. Presently a fire truck could not come down this street. And all of the above are yet occupied! All this on a (former) mature, tree canopied street. Just ruined our neighborhood…Thanks to a city council that have not done their due diligence!

Communities and individuals are being disrespected by our city council with this bylaw.

This needs to stop ! How dare this city council destroy Edmonton !

Have a 4 row townhouse plus 4 secondary suites close by under development. Property value of our home is going down. Will be traffic congestion, noise and no parking!!!! Would want this to happen to some councillors and see how they would like it.

Happy to sign this petition as our once quiet street is going to be flooded with traffic given the multi family dwellings at the ends of the block. Also most of the builders don’t care about anything other than making a profit, my driveway was cracked from heavy equipment driving on it, fence falling over and landscaping trashed. Granted the builder said “he would fix it” ( houses arent done yet so will see) but there needs to be a bond put up by these builders that existing home owners can draw from to fix the damages caused. I am not asking for anything other than to ensure my property is put back in the same condition but will likely be a small claims court visit which takes time and effort. IMO city council has opened the flood gates on new development but haven’t stopped to study the impacts to the people living in these areas. Long time residents are packing up and moving out as the hassle of dealing with traffic and the non stop construction is too much and I don’t blame them.

I am opposed to the current rezoning bylaw.

Democracy requires more than lip service. Preserving the past is our foundation for a healthy future.

The in-fills are ridiculous and don't take the neighborhood into consideration. Multi family dwellings with no parking in single family neighborhoods is absurd. My taxes go up and they get to ruin the neighborhood and get tax breaks. Good job City of Edmonton
