Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

This a terrible decision by city council.

This is a beautiful, charming neighbourhood and it will he destroyed if multi unit housing is everywhere. Enough.

Control the development in our neighbourhood.

We would like controls on development in our neighborhood.

I have felt a deep shame this last 8 months. Shame because I feel violated and no protection from a city council that allows the violation. Our family home of 50 years has a private oasis of gardens and fruit trees and flower shrubs. Our summers are filled with the enjoyment of being outside in our back yard. Today we have 8 large clear windows overlooking our yard, with the main door above the fence height...directly facing the entire back yard. I know I must sell my home but my mother of 101 still lives in this home her husband built for her.

Stop the 4+ story building go next door to family homes!

I am absolutely disgusted at how tax payers’ input is ignored at the cost of letting developers do what they will in our neighborhoods.

This needs to be more thoughtful.

I don't agree with the 8 units build

Density should be concentrated on arterial roads and there should be guidelines and requirements for new builds that reflect the community.

City council’s role is to work WITH the population of Edmonton not AGAINST them.

Building 8 plex's in our mature neighborhoods make only the developers happy. We have one being constructed a block form our house and the back steps actually collide with the house behind side fence. The issue of increased cars make parking impossible, the height blocks sun for their neighbors, they do not have any green space around them for anything more than a shrub (which will not help with increasing our green canopy), our older sewage lines will not support more pressure. These homes are not even affordable to most families. Why can't the city focus on building single family or duplex homes that people can afford instead of homes that sell for $ 750, 000. Again only the developers are happy and citizens are NOT.

Please stop these 8-plexes

Increased density is fine but it must be done in a way that does not destroy community or sense of place.

Need more mindful zoning policy and bylaws. As a fourth generation Edmontonian I am very disappointed in this high density approach being inflicted on older neighbourhoods.

The neighbourhood is about to quadruple in population with an abundance of instant shoe-box housing, and it is a huge negative for the community.

I'm extremely unhappy with the stance the city is taking on building 6 and 8 plexes in existing single family communities I don't think this should be allowed when we have already bee living here This will devalue the orices k our homes and us extremely unfair to long time residences Build your 8 plex next ti the mayors house or the other council members if that's what you want to do I'm sure they wont appreciate it any more then we do

These big units never provide parking plus it’s not affordable living by no means. Strathearn apartments are affordable not developers charging 1800 a month rent

We are a neighborhood which already has low rise low cost apartments , high rise apartments as well as single family dwellings. Plus plans for mixed housing in Michener Park and the West 240. I feel anymore multiplex housing will be placing a catastrophic load on our 1968 infrastructure! I cannot believe the lack of control of how many dwellings can be built in a neighborhood and the lack of architectural specifications.
