Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

There is an eight plex being built next door to my house. The house they are planning to tear down is a large beautiful newly renovated home in an affordable area. Another one was built across from my house by the same builders, the house before was set on fire “by accident” and suddenly an eight plex was built on top.

There needs to er reasonable limits to both anticipated occupancies, and also the physical size of the structures relative to the lot size. It should also consider the average size and height of the existing homes.

The city council has engaged in uniformed, irresponsible decision-making. Take accountability, correct your mistake, and engage properly with the communities you're impacting.

We have a developer build a 8plex on 116 street, but only a 4 car garage. Potentially there could be up to 16 vehicles and I like to know about the garbage situation. Is there 8 green bins and 8 black bins, 1 for each unit?

As a young person trying to get into the housing market . This is making it impossible and taking any last hope my generation had and crushing it . I Minton is no longer somewhere I want to raise my small young family .

Stop these ridiculous in fills. A skinny is ok but anymore no. Where’s the parking for more.

Ritchie is already a dense neighborhood and installing an 8 plex on a single family home yard would disrupt the already limited parking availability

No more multi units

Done without any neighborhood feedback. Skinny homes I could understand but all these huge buildings being built clogging up roads & being built next to regular sized homes is totally inconsiderate.

Enough is enough

Housing is important and particularly lower income but this infil is just creating future ghettos.

8plex next door to me is atrocity. Parking space is at premium as of now, once new tenants move in, it will become worse. Building is too close to property line and my privacy has been taken away. Windows are but to line up directly with my existing windows

Enough insanity without consultation

Insanity, this will destroy neighborhoods and Devalue our life long investment! No home owner wants a multi unit next door No parking Industrial garbage bins beside your home 10-20 people coming and going at all hours!!

Moratorium needed. Lack of parking is ridiculous as is heights permitted.

This should not be allowed and needs to be stopped.

This infill housing is causing more then housing issues it’s effecting parking to go with it. We are having this exact issue on our street on 155st. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Mature and historic neighborhoods shouldn’t be subject to irresponsible, disproportionate redevelopment.

The zoning bylaw without local consultation like it always has been, would require sufficient consultations with all communities and through a public vote with the initiative publicly debated. This is too fast and without proper warning.

Where is the parking? The city is ridiculous for granting building permits to these greedy developers. No consideration for residence of the neighborhood. The city does nothing for tax payers when they are scammed by contractors.
