Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

I think it's ridiculous when you have all these people feom out of country putting up art's in a house district. Give the art's their own little dedicated area and quit interfering with someone beautiful view feom their home.

As a lifelong resident of Edmonton, I oppose the 8‑plex project because it undermines our City Plan values of “LIVE in a place that feels like home” and “PRESERVE what matters most”. This oversized development disrupts the character of our neighbourhood, strains parking and local infrastructure, and sacrifices mature trees—eroding the very sense of belonging and community identity we cherish. Thoughtful infill should respect scale, support neighbourhood cohesion, and genuinely align with Edmonton’s vision—not bulldoze it in the name of density.

I saved my entire life to build a small beautiful house in this area. I love my community, neighbors and city- to scale and flux population at this level this is an absolute abomination and disrespects the people who live here

Fails to respect the beauty and community of the neighborhood

Midblock infill of eight units is ridiculous. Corners, fine. Midblock, no.

Not against infill per se. But it needs to be done responsibly and NO home should lose all their light and privacy.

We need responsible, thought out, planning and construction for densification to continue. Our current program isn't working.

I’m pro densification but it needs to be responsible and well planned!

We are one of the neighbourhoods that have been overtaken by infill including the dangerous mid block 8 plexes.

If you don’t have a front yard or a backyard or some type of outside community space like maybe a courtyard for these massive “6-8 plex” units, how do you meet your neighbours and build relationships and COMMUNITY. Community is essential to our mental health and well being.

All for bringing people back into neighbours and stopping the sprawl, but 6 plexes… 8 plexes is not the way to go!!! It’s going to be an absolute nightmare in these beautiful established communities. And don’t kid any of us… none of this is “affordable”

No to destroying mature Neighbourhoods with increased unit plans. Need consultation and officials need to be accountable for their decisions that were made without proper consultation. These officials should be removed from office.

Not opposed to building up density at all but 6-8 units in the space of 1 mid street is too much. End of street, fine, ideal in fact. But they’re an eyesore, they’re not remotely in keeping with the rest of the street, they block valuable day light for neighbours. We’re just looking for common sense and a little courtesy to existing residents.

Not no infill, but infill that respects existing neighbours

The roads in our neighbourhood that have been designated as connector and arterial cannot support the amount of traffic that cuts through on 76 ave to 114 ave. This often causes lengthy delays when exiting or entering the neighbourhood to get to kids sports on time.

We are appalled with the 8 plex built mid-block across from our 113 year old Historic home. We were not notified of build and had no opportunity to appeal. The building constructed was not what was originally posted. We feel a big disrespect from our City Councilors. This has been my family home since 1945.

No more trash

Mature neighborhoods are one of Edmonton's greatest strengths but City Council decided to erode this strength by the lowest standard of densification and infill driven by short-term thinking rather than seeking the highest quality for the greatest good based on best practices that respect existing private property owners, families, and collective space as a legacy of intergenerational investment. Stop and rethink before every reason for living in Edmonton has been destroyed by cheap infill and deteriorating quality of life instead of investing for a future that values quality spaces for everyone based on good zoning and the highest standards. Go back to the drawing board City Council. Stop before everything has been lost to poor architecture, poor design, overcrowding, future lack of infrastructure capacity, and disrespect to the people who live in and pay for homes in Edmonton. Why would anyone want to be recruited to the city when any certainty buying into a neighborhood has been undermined by carpetbagger development? Reasons for staying in Edmonton include beautiful green neighborhoods with mature character that has evolved over time and history, the families and individuals who have lived here and continue to join our communities and invest in the sweat equity that it takes as homeowners and renters to make a beautiful community. I and dismayed and very concerned by the destruction of mature neighbourhood chatacter and overcrowding of historic neighborhoods across the city including old Glenora, Grandview, Strathcona, and moving south to Petrolia.

Irresponsible infill needs to stop now!! Our city’s character and charm is not for sale to investors who do not care.

Poor traffic exit and entrance. Worst in the city at 76th Ave and 114th Street. More skinny homes and more apartments makes it impossible. Lowers value in a high value neighborhood
