Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

I am in a newer neighbourhood. But ai signed because I believe in what your group is fighting for. If elected as Councillor in October, I am ready to stand up and fight for you.

We have an 8 plex being built in our street 10505-126 St. There is barely enough parking as it is on our street so we are wondering how we will accommodate another 8 to 16 cars. The front of the 8pkex juts out past all the other houses and is close to the sidewalk there needs to be more thought put into the infills.

Infill needs to be a more collaborative process to balance the wants and needs. Current situation is not at all ideal for residents.

This is the initiative we need

This Zoning Bylaw is destroying our City! You are destroying people's life savings with no consultation and no respect for people's rights. Change this now!

I think infill is important but there also has to be consideration of the impact of all these extra people in neighborhoods. Where will all these people park?

City council likes to forget that our climate demands us to be a city of cars, building 8 u its on a single lot and not providing parking is just plain stupid. The infill buildings are not suited to the neighborhoods they are built in, they need to blend in and must have parking!

No thought seems to have been put into this. It appears to be a supposed quick fix to a housing crisis which in turn will cause many more problems and issues. There is no care about the residents of these neighborhoods.

16 units are planned for two lots right next to us. That's too much.

I support strategically planned densification and infill. This bylaw was shortsighted, poorly researched and planned, and is a scattershot approach to development that will compromise the quality of life in Edmonton.

Please stop the multiplex mid street densification in mature neighborhoods of Edmonton! We need gentle densification with community engagement and approval!

Please stop the madness of allowing massive apartments in the middle of nature neighborhoods! Engage the communities and listen to your residents and voters

These Ugly Black&White 4plexes on a single lot are too high, 21/2 story. They are not not following any architectural guide lines, are cheapening the beautiful neighborhoods. Why are they getting away with no architectural guidelines??? Shadowing the neighboring home, is there no height restrictions? No inspections?

Please pause to hear what the people who elected you have to say. This Council and Administration have made a collosal mistake and should show some integrity by admitting it and taking action to prevent further damage to our communities.

Densification the right way, not the greedy way.

The Zoning Bylaw 20001 is destroying the Westmount neighborhood which is one of the oldest residential subdivisions in Edmonton with many historical buildings and mature trees. The by-law led to removal of many decades old trees creating negative impact to the environment; for example, over half a dozen of decades old tree next to my house were removed to make room to build a 8-unit monster building. The introduction of mid-block, 8-unit apartment-like buildings represents a radical departure from the pattern of the neighborhood. The 8 fold increase of leaving unit will put a lot of stress to parking spaces and utility infrastructure. The construction of the monster apartment-like building has been very disturbing. The large construction vehicles frequently blocked the street and cars from the large number of crew members frequently used up almost all the park spaces near the construction site. A crew member even demanded us not to park in front of our house threatening it might get damaged by their construction vehicles. The crew members frequently walk through our lawn to enter the construction site. Our plants, tree and lawn were damaged by the crew's activities. The noises of the construction have lasted from 7 am to 7 pm often 7 days a week for many months. We need to constantly clean up the trash blown from the construction site.

Bring back the 15% developer tax. Our property taxes are out of control and only rising. I’m tired of the overcrowding and the traffic—it’s already too much.

Narrow roads heavy traffic from construction that often ant fit. Two cars per home a multiple garbage bins on narrow lanes ? Really this is the best your cut planners can do ?
