Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

I never can park out front due to the infill currently. I cannot bring my mom over to visit and park out front. She cannot come through the alley.

It is a-poling what is happening in the city of Edmonton with the housing. The city counsellors used to have common sense and insite as to how people live. Now you have park blocks away from your home. This needs to stop !!!!

Residents need to have more input into infill projects. These projects need to have adequate garage parking and leave street parking for visitors and businesses.

I am watching Everyone Studios exceed their city permits on every development they do. The latest is 11206 75th Avenue. They have a permit for a 4 unit RS building, covering 45% of the lot, yet they are about to pour concrete into forms covering at least 70%. Just learned that their building at 7411 113 St, permitted as RSM12 and allowing 4 units with 3 basement units, is now a 28 unit rooming house with shared kitchens.

Scrap the current zoning bylaw. Consider older neighbourhoods are not able to carry the density. The city wants to put into them. Roads, traffic planning and other infrastructure have not been adjusted to accommodate the amount of people they’re trying to put into older neighbourhoods. existing property owners enjoyment of their property is being damaged by these large multiplex infills.

We are loosing what makes are city special. Not everything has to be for everyone

Community input is very important, it provides an accurate representation of the needs, resources, and challenges that a community is facing. By not consulting with community members, the City of Edmonton is demonstrating that it values economic development more than social and environmental justice. This behavior is rooted in colonial ideologies and practices, thus also demonstrating the City of Edmonton's lack of commitment to reconciliation. You could hire a social worker to conduct community needs assessments and ensure that community input is reflected in your planning and development. Every decision you make, you are accountable for. It is about what the City of Edmonton is setting as their priorities. Edmontonians are noticing more and more that the City of Edmonton is prioritizing profit over people ane the environment. People all over the city are expressing the same statement, "The city doesn't care. They do what they want." ..This is not okay, people have lost faith in City Council, and this fuels more disconnection. Is this how the City of Edmonton City Council wants to be seen by Edmontonians??! And is this what City Council wants to achieve?! If so, then City Council is unfit to be leading the city. Please listen to the people who are taking time to fill out this petition, who call 311 with their concerns, who stick up for their communities. Many people are giving up on City Council, so those voices you hear now are fundamentally important in shaping the city's future. Please be more responsible and accountable for the decisions you are making, that way you can maintain integrity knowing you are doing the right thing.

On our short ave with there given 8 units per lot there could be 240 units with no provision for parking or placement for garbage. Snow cleaning ??? Absolute destruction of neighborhood. How did we get councillor’s that would support deregulation with such detrimental effects. Or perhaps they like mixing treeless areas with their wished for ‘no cars’ society. Insane. I have offered to meet with individual councillors or whole council to in more detail how stupid their plan is. Gordon McLeod

Leave the neighborhood.

As a frequent visitor to the neighbourhood I am appalled that this has past. When I drive down the street it is congested with vehicles on both side of the street.

The rapid overdevelopment of multi-plex units on the northeast side of North Glenora is creating serious and unacceptable challenges for our community. Projects like the complex planned for 11024 133 Street will overwhelm our limited street parking and make an already tight cul-de-sac on 110A Avenue nearly impassable. With no dedicated parking for dozens of new units, residents and visitors will be forced to park wherever they can, increasing congestion and frustration. This lack of thoughtful planning fails to respect the families who have built their lives here and rely on safe, accessible streets. Equally concerning are the safety risks and the deterioration of our neighbourhood’s character. Emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances already struggle to get through crowded roads, and more high-density development without infrastructure improvements will only escalate the problem. The sheer number of units also means an unsightly abundance of garbage and recycling bins cluttering sidewalks and roadways year-round. These developments are being approved without any meaningful plan to address parking, safety, or aesthetics. Immediate action is needed to reconsider these projects before they permanently damage the quality of life in North Glenora.

My side street has 5 homes sold, being torn down for 41 dwellings. Homes that have recently put in solar on their bungalow now have a 3 story home next door blocking their investment. We have an 11 unit 3 story being put at the end of a cul-de-sac that already is a tight corner for mail trucks, amazon and the likes. Corner main street lots, should have the ability to add density. Mid block should not. These are all peoples largest investments, their homes, their neighborhoods. It should be respected.

Please just give people designated areas to park. 1/10,000 people would actually bike/bus to and from - but mass majority of Albertans drive and always will whether there is parking or not. Please create parking for people so or streets are bigger and safer.

This bylaw is ruining everything attractive about good neighborhoods.

Has the city considered if our underlying sewer and water systems can sustain this increased usage? This infrastructure was not created to endure the capacity then put in place in 1960

We have been so dishearten by what has happened in our neighbourhood. We have infills on each side of our property with third story balconies over looking our property, such an invasion of privacy, Parking is now a nightmare. So disappointed in what the city is allowing. We are all for densification if done with respect to neighbours and the neighbourhood.

Stop the development of. A multi-Residential building in Granlea Crescent! I am 100% opposed for the infill of this potential project into a very well established single family dwelling area.

City council needs to listen to citizens, not developers! This bylaw needs to be repealed before we lose what makes our communities beautiful, healthy, affordable and happy. Many of these builders don't have any connection to our country let alone our city and have no sense of the value of our gardens, our sunlight, our mature trees, our urban wildlife and green space and are only interested in getting as much money and squarefootage out of the land as possible. It's really disgraceful. Once we lose our neighbourhoods we can't get them back. Infill can be beautiful, to scale, modest and sustainable, none of which is happening. Council needs to stop this.

This is unbelievable!! The city of Edmonton is ruining Edmonton!! I will do all I can to vote out the pieces of crap that are letting this happen in our neighborhoods!!
