Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

Although I currently live in a newer neighbourhood, my past residence have both Malmo and Parkallen. These areas were developed at a time when the infrastructure demands were considerably less. Having lived in Parkallen I am fully aware of the stress and congestion created by forcing greater numbers of people than the area was designed to accommodate. Has there been no studies conducted to determine the appropriate population density for these older neighborhoods?

8 Plex infill is a crime against residential communities

My once quiet and humble neighbourhood has been turned into a chaos of cars, garbage bins, abandoned lots growing weeds, monstrosities calling themselves housing. I cannot imagine what is next and how the very old infrastructure of sewers will handle it. Please listen to your constituents. Put a moratorium on infill until sensible discussions can be held.

This by-law disregards the rights of property owners to have some level of certainty over what the community they live in will become. Passing this by-law was an abdication of city’s urban planning responsibilities. It was lazy and demonstrated a lack of respect and understanding of the people who live in older neighbourhoods in Edmonton.

Please keep infills to 2-4 families only and have mandatory garages for min 4 units

An 8 unit condo is being built at a four-way stop near me. This is insane just from a parking perspective nevermind congestion. The density of in-fills is insane.

my greatest concern is the 6&8 plexes, combined with infills that occupy 80-80 of the lot, anything above 3 stories, and parking

Incessant construction disturbances with no apparent paths to amelioration (even with complaints filed), all to make our neighbourhoods less liveable in the end.

This hurtful zoning change needs to be stopped. It is asinine and all the councilors and mayor who voted for this need to be removed from office. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU KEEP COMMUNITIES TOGETHER.

I am agaoinst infill in my Duggan Neighbourhood.

I am grateful to the people leading this initiative to stop this violation in Edmonton neighbourhoods. I am appalled by the actions of this council. It does not speak for me or my neighbours.

Absolutely disappointed with the current city leadership regarding this issue.

The mondo 8-12 unit infills with zero or limited parking is problematic for traffic and child safety. As well they create unrealistic drainage and foundation damage to nearby older homes. Plus there’s zero room for even their garbage bins
