What the city is allowing for multiplexes is disgraceful.

Reverse the re zoned bylaw on 81 Ave north side from 109 st to 111 street . Stop the creation of cheap box units for short-term living . East Garneau is nothing but walk up units. There’s less than 20% single-family dwellings in this old historical sensitive neighborhood. People don’t want to live in small box units that do not fit in the neighborhood. We are ready saturated in high density of all sorts, including supportive housing units now.

A bungalow on our street is being replaced by a 2-story triplex, with each unit having an additional basement suite, plus the existing 2-story garage that has a garden suite on the 2nd floor. No apparent consideration for where to park at least 6 additional vehicles. Seriously?!?!?!!!

Respect existing zoned homes with owners/residents who bought in neighborhoods for that reason. Dont only consider getting more housing at any cost for increasing renters. Existing home owner neighborhood matter

Slapping us with 10% tax increase and then plopping apartments on between houses on a quiet street is just kicking us while we’re down. Shameful

It is not okay to devalue residents homes, residents who have paid their taxes for years, and will now see their property value drop, and the sun in their yard disappear, this is not responsible growth, this is a reckless agenda.

We bought an old neighbourhood because of the beautiful sun, the kind neighbours and the nice yards and the big trees Currently, they are tearing down the neighbor’s place. It is on for eight units with no consultation. There’s no parking it will bring our property value down our taxes up our drainage costs up and need an influx of infrastructure if I wanted to live next to a giant house with no yard a foot away from my neighbors. I would’ve bought in new construction the existing communities that have been here for decades plus should definitely be consulted.

I don’t mind infill or duplex homes, but they should be limited to two residences only and should have parking spaces/garages, and the design should reflect the neighborhood. Trees must be preserved and responsibility taken regarding impact on next door neighbors’ home integrity, investment value and enjoyment of their homes and yards

This is a terrible idea that puts the onus on homeowners to fight with developers, as the city will, given the proposed legislation, give zero support to neighbouring homeowners if there are any issues.

Over reach needs to stop. We bought in a neighbourhood when we could afford to purchase. We choose our community based on the existing bylaws and zoning constraints. I feel it is unacceptable to revise these communities without significant feedback from members of the communities themselves.

Disruptive developments are spoiling our neighbourhood.

Completely baffled as to the projects that are being approved. Skinny infills make sense, but so many multi unit (8+ unit) developments going on formerly single resident lots makes no sense… many with no included parking and on winter bus routes.

I’m not opposed to infill, but it has has to be responsible in info. Mature neighbourhoods with single homes should not be using a lot to build an eight Plex or six Plex.
