The lack of regulations on the infills are making the desirable neighbourhoods much less desirable

Consult the public when building in existing neighborhoods! :3

mamoth building going up beside my house. Eight units where will they park?

My quiet neighborhood has 3 infills going up which we had no notification about. The destruction of them was done illegally (asbestos everywhere) and Michael Janz office did nothing.

I am very disturbed that we were not consulted. Single family feelings have been destroyed and replaced by multiplexes that take the entire property with no parking or garage and no plants or green spaces.

Neighbourhoods and lives are being ruined.

This has to stop

These 4, 6 and 8-plexes should be kept to the main roads and not be allowed to encroach on neighborhoods of predominantly single family homes. They take away the privacy, light, parking and lower home values. They are built too close to property boundaries and do nothing to aid low-income families as the rents are often too high and the rooms are so small compared to older properties. Local residents must be advised before planning permission is given so proper consultation can happen. Communities are being destroyed for the greed of builders and the total lack of concern of City Council. They would not want to live next to building thrown up with no parking and dozens of ugly garbage cans to say nothing of noise and additional strain on schools and services. So why should anyone else be forced to live next to this. Building duplexes or townhouses on these lots would increase density without destroying communities. Densification must be done properly, with planning and consultation.

We agree with the petition

I feel the large 6, 8, and even the 4 unit infills are too much for the older neighborhoods. The people who already live in the neighborhood have picked their homes for the space, quiet, and the type of homes already in the area.

All these six Plexes and eight Plex is going up because one counsellor couldn’t be bothered to show up to council meeting. He knows who he is. Let’s stop putting money in the pockets of developers who are not being responsible to the communities. This isn’t helping the homeless situation because each of these “homes” are being sold for $300k+. They are still not affordable. City of Edm - DO BETTER.

My neighbourhood is being destroyed by the infill housing. On my one block, 18 infill houses. No parking, they all park on the street and worst of all, expensive. Nobody making under 100 k a year can afford these builds. Nobody is winning except the city collecting taxes and the investors. Its all being done wrong.

I care deeply about maintaining the integrity of our beautiful neighbourhood, and find it highly distressing and impractical to replace three demolished bungalow suites on our street alone, with a total of 25 units, one of which is 3 stories and displaces any privacy for nearby homes. The congestion and lack of parking, considering we are also a parking spillover for students at Ross Shep High School, will render our area dangerous for our children and inaccessible to current residents.

Before the purchase of land with intent on building a four , six,,eight plex or more the community in which it is being built should have a say. The city allowing the builder of these massive buildings squeezing out the people living in the mature neighborhoods by building such massive structures that infringe on a single family homes privacy blocking out the sun and not to mention the parking situation. I believe it’s a crime what the city of Edmonton council as done.

Stop the insanity!

North Glenora is exploding with infill! It's unbelievable how fast these 5, 6, 7 and 8 plexes are going up! Not happy AT ALL!

These infills are ruining the vibes of our neighborhood - my neighbor lost all sun in their backyard due to a tall infill.

The irresponsible building construction activity in the area is not acceptable. Rules need to be introduced to regulate builders and ensure the quality of resident building.

The city belongs to all of us that live , work and pay taxes here. We have a right to be heard where planning is effecting us.

6 to 8 plex units should not be allowed on residential lots !!
