I agree that we should rescind, rethink, and redo. There is a better way to increase density than putting up gigantic complexes in mature neighbourhoods.

I am very against the multiplexes/infill housing developments replacing single family homes in mature established neighborhoods.

I am against eight Plexes six Plexes and four Plex is going up where residential homes or duplexes used to be. There’s no thought to a quiet neighbourhood in such a busy area of town regarding parking either

No more 8 unit builds on 50x150 lots. No more builds without off-street parking.

If you polled all the residence from every mature neighborhood, I am certain you would have almost no support for the current zoning laws. I am very confident the majority dont want multiplex housing. Thre should be a more consideration to the residence of these neighborhoods, which you represent.

What is being permitted with multiple living units 8-10 per 1 single dwelling lot with no precision for parking on several lots on same street is irresponsible and destroying quality of life

Keep reminding city hall repeatedly that people have a vested interest in these communities .

Please keep out single family homes with yards for our children to play in. We also need to ensure that there is enough parking for cars as well. It’s not realistic today to assume that everyone is taking public transport.

Mid block 8 plexes are unacceptable!! There have been at least 5 approved and in progress that are all replacing single family homes….our neighborhood is already dense!!!!

This Council is destroying the integrity of these beautiful old neighborhoods and they’re doing it without any consultation with the people who built them.. They’re forgetting who they serve and I’m hoping the next election will remind them. I will NOT be voting for Andrew Knack!

Need to limit multiple buildings with multiple units in a regular city lot size. Already parking in older residential areas is a nightmare

We are so upset with the loss of the integrity of our beautiful neighborhood. I do not pay 5k in property taxes to have no parking and eyesores of a building

I’m fine with lot splitting for two skinny’s, mid block duplexes and even a fourplex. But these 8-10 door monstrosities in established neighborhoods that are incredibly poorly constructed have very much crossed the line.

I dont support heavy infill zoning with many units on a single lot. Otherwise it will be noisy and dangerous. Thank you

Highlands Common. Building multi family residence as infills is ludicrous. These monstrous structures devalue the properties of families that have lived in the community for decades. Responsible infills does not include these. Destroying a community of thousands for developers is not responsible. It is criminal.

We moved to Highlands almost 12 years ago because we fell in love with the historical houses, tree lined streets, community oriented feel, larger lots and varied and interesting character of the houses. We have since invested hundreds of thousands of dollars and countless hours to renovating and continue to do so. My husband has sacrificed time with the family to do most of the work himself. Just up the street, they have now built an 8 plex. On one side is a tiny 1912 historical home where a senior man with mobility challenges lives and on the other side is a young family who spent over 1 million to build their beautiful infill home. This complex has 4 entrances on either side looking onto both properties, leaving no privacy what so ever. There are 1 way streets and, of course, these complexes have no parking so congestion will be an issue. As well, no garage or shed space is likely to result in storage of unsightly items at these entryways. 2 blocks up, 3 more 8 plexes are now in progress beside/across from immaculately restored and maintained historical homes with plaques out front. To add, there is now a proposal for an addiction and recovery center to be built a block away with 16 units and shared common spaces. This is just a city block down and within view of the park. My daughters now worry about feeling safe when walking the dog, should this go ahead. They worry about it aloud daily. My husband and I feel defeated. We have invested so much in our home and community and now the rules have changed and our voices are ignored. These developments are taking away the value of our home and investment. They threaten the very charm and character that made us fall in love with Highlands in the first place. My youngest daughter actually compared the compex down the street to the recent animated movie "Up!" where the older man, out of desperation against the invasion of developers, floated his house away with balloons. Even children and teens see and feel this injustic

Packing mature neighbourhoods with rental units does not help anyone looking to own a home that is not a single family dwelling.

Fairness and balanced decision making please.
