city planning is way out of control; these destroy our neighbourhoods

8 plex units are ridiculous on a single lot, and then No Parking Considered. The city needs to be held accountable for those decisions already made and reverse them.

It is unacceptable to ruin communities by placing apartments (8 units) on interior lots. 4 units is plenty. 1000 square foot units do NOT solve the housing crisis for families and the average household!

The multi plex unit are devastating our community we already have the patio home being converted to four story rental apartments. The church was knock down to accommodate habit home multiple units and with smaller church structure. All these factors are along with any the skinny home are a lot for our community to absorb. We have out up with construction for yrs, having our access to our home blocked off my contractor and construction equipment. I feel we are losing the beauty of our community and heart of our community. No more infill, monster multiple plex units the original residence are being force out due to these infills.

Traffic is an issue. Overfilling neighborhoods will seriously harm traffic especially near school zones

I agree with the movement. 8 plexes and 16 plexes that tower over the neighborhood mid block need to be stopped. It is ridiculous to have no right to sunlight in your own backyard, no parking, no privacy, and deal with a pushed to the max aging utility system. And all because the city decided to let anyone build a multiplex? Because I built a reasonable home a year earlier and did not foresee the bungalow next to me will become a mid-block condo? Some fly by night developers comes in, no name, literally numbers [email protected] on 130st and 106ave, to cash in on ridiculous no restriction development comes along? Responsible infill development I support. I don’t support stupid, and the city’s infill vision right now is just that.

We are currently spending $150k on exterior renovations, including solar. If a large building is put up beside us (derelict home at 9322 is up for sale and will be sold for large project) this will cause a tremendous amount of shade, negatively impacting our responsible solar project and limiting our generation. Please stop this before our neighbors home becomes a towering structure beside our lovely bungalow.

Too many skinny houses & 8 units changing community’s charm to row housing look.

I object to the current infill and zoning regulations.

I am deeply saddened by the changes in my neighborhood. I have an 8-plex going in across the street, a 6-plex a couple doors down, and I can see 4 additional houses for sale from my front door. I also know of 3 more houses on my street that are likely to be listed. People are scared about the impact of the new zoning and selling their houses worsening the impact.

The city has given a permit to a developer on the lot adjacent to mine that previously had one home and now the developer has started a 10 unit rental and I need to do what I can to see if the 10 units can be reduced because with 10 units it would just bring nothing but extreme congestion from people and vehicle traffic far beyond this area can handle

I am signing this petition because I am deeply concerned about the new zoning bylaw's impact on Royal Gardens. Building eight-unit complexes where a single home once stood will lower property values and overcrowd our streets. Our neighborhood lacks the infrastructure-from parking to drainage -to support this kind of rapid, dense development. Please restore balanced planning that considers existing communities.

Reinstate mature neighbourhood overlay; responsible oversight of urban growth and densification along appropriate corridors.

Four units per lot in established neighbourhoods is already too many, it should be two units.

Infill is getting out of hand in mature neighbourhoods that are already high density. We have two 4-plexes (with basement suites that essentially make them 8-plexes) two doors own and there are an additional two 8-plexes at the end of our block. The infrastructure can not handle the increased demand on sewer, sanitation and parking. It is absolutely ridiculous and needs to stop!!

An 11 unit, 3 story apartment, is about to be built across the street from me at 11024 133 St NW in the middle of 1 story bungalow homes.

What is happening in Edmonton is madness.

City council should be responsible for protecting all community members rights. Put rules in place to ensure current home owners investments are protected.

Please get neighbourhood input FIRST and then always ensure there is enough parking available for those living in the new structure. 8-plexes are way too large. Keep them at 6!!!
