Restore Edmonton's Democracy: Rescind. Rethink. Redo

The City Council 's changes to Edmonton's zoning laws and the green light is has given to developers is destroying our neighbourhoods.

Stop these monstrous infills. Better planning is a MUST!!

I am acutely concerned about the City of Edmonton’s determination about inserting bike lanes on 76th Avenue despite our concerted community efforts to twice stop their plans. The City’s $90M bike lane plan was quashed many years ago as their defense for stripping parking was met by fierce resistance from local businesses who require parking as a means to securing a business license, by 2 places of worship, seniors navigating life and overall citizen disapproval. Even the then Mayor Mandel opposed the 76th Avenue bike lane plan coining it a “nightmare”. A new fleet of City planners is feebly trying to piggyback the restoration of the Mill Creek Ravine as a means to including a bike lane. The City’s bike lane plan for 76th Avenue must be vigorously opposed once again.

We Taxpayers have the right. We were not consulted about this rediculous zoning plan. It should be put to a vote.

I suggest that after proper public consolation at least one counsellor as well as the planning branch manager should be required to visit the site and then sign off on each densification as if they were living in one of the homes next to the proposed infill complex.

Please stop the Multi Unit developments, especially 6 or more units in established Neighborhoods

My home is already sitting between two infill developments. This has reduced the value of my property as a neighbourhood residence. It has also reduced my enjoyment of the property, particularly the pleasure of the backyard garden which is now overshadowed by tall garage apartments on either side. The reduced access to sunlight had significantly hampered garden growth, especially in the vegetable plot.

Stop The Insanity

I wasn't paying attention now I have a monstrosity two doors to the south....

All new builds should allow for parking for 2 cars per unit it. Underbuilding garages are the most effective, as doesn't take up land use

Infill should not be overbearing in the neighborhood they are built in and needs to provide adequate parking

Sick and tired of the monstrosities being erected by greedy developers!

I support reinstating the Maturr Neighbourhood Overlay.

I pray for honest representation. Listen to us! The people of Edmonton need to be heard and represented better.

Infill needs to be done with a plane and respect for mature neighbor hoods. You can not just open the flood gates to builders and developers.

I'm signing not because it's happening in my neighborhood yet but I see what it is doing to mature neighborhoods. Stop the stupidity now!!

Stop building 8-units in mid-blocks, which is unreasonable.
