Infills are ruining neighborhoods

There is just too much infill with too many units with no parking in my neighborhood. Everything is rental market and the skinny homes are not affordable. It used to be a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. I am disgusted and disappointed with Edmontans city council. They continue to be out of touch with the citizens and wasting money.

We might not have infill yet as we are a newer neighbourhood. But we have air b nbs in our street and a horribly planned neighbourhood with now on demand driving down our cul de sac.

Very concerned about the current path the City of Edmonton has taken to facilitate densification at the expense of mature neighbourhoods and the taxpayers populating them. It is not right that we should be bullied by our own civic government where we are threatened by the prospect of inappropriate and damaging redevelopment.

City Council is not listening to citizens, they believe they know more than us. They should represent the beliefs of the people in the districts they are voted in for, not their own agendas.

I agree we need to increase density, but it should be done in a way that improves communities, not destroys them.

The neighbourhood is changing drastically. No parking. The streets have been changed to one way already with bike lanes. We are already crowded with duplexes, let alone staff from RAH/GRH taking up parking. The city is only looking into collecting more money and no convenience for residents. Extend the city accommodation in a different way. Build in unused spaces.

Interior midblock 8 unit developments scope and scale are too large for the scale of the adjacent buildings. They impact privacy. There are not parking provision. There should be restrictions on lot splitting. Two 8 plexes should not be allowed to be split lots. Especially corner lots. 8 plexes should not be allowed in interior mid block. They should no be allowed on either side of a sfd. The city through policy has over favored developer rather than single family dwelling homeowners. COE and developments are creating disease distrust and disharmony amongst Edmonton citizens. New buyers who want to buy a mature home are being outbid by developer. This is driving prices up and making sfd less affordable. Then 8 unit multiplex rent prices are very high and not affordable. Rescind the bylaw and start over.

Responsible development; utilities, parking, and ammenities upgrading must be aligned with development

Edmonton could be a model of responsible and thoughtful infill, but this infill approach is the complete opposite of that. It is completely decoupled from and will not achieve the City Plan and Climate Action plan aspirations. We may end up with a lot of new building starts (demolishing well-build affordable house to buy or rent) but will these new builds end up finished, and occupied, or just heavily subsidized speculative investments (ie. vacant).

I have 2 homes behind me that are slated for 8 units per lot. It should not be allowed

The city is not considering parking for new builds. Residential streets are looking like parking lots.

I agree with the petition. Irresponsible building is ruining my historic heritage neighborhood.

We have a huge infill that has been approved beside our property at 9322-168 St. This is going to take over our newly commissioned solar system and all our backyard privacy and front view out our living room window. I have appealed and our hearing date is on Feb 20th. I ask for any support and help I may be able to get. Thanks for your time.
