We need more friendly family oriented neighborhood, not just a lot full of people with no trees, no grass, no parking, just because the city needs to make more money on taxes on the properties. We have enough space in canada to be able to have the spaces we have now in our homes our properties. We dont need 30’people or more to live in the same property that 5 family members lived in. The infrastructure back in the day was build the sustain 1 family home in this lots not 8 homes.

we live in a beautiful mature area. We are witnessing multiplexes going up in neighbouring communities and it’s irresponsible. We don’t want that to permeate into ours.

The Edmonton I grew up in is being decimated by blanket decision making at City Hall. What we desperately need is a return to common sense. What looks good on paper may destroy the way of life people have worked hard for in reality.

I am signing this petition because I am seeing first hand what Zoning Bylaw 20001 is doing to established communities and we need to get back to what we had, where people had a say in what permits were granted for their neighborhoods.

The infrastructure in older neighbourhoods cannot not sustain unlimited density. I don’t want my home or my neighbours homes dwarfed by a huge multiplex! There isn’t enough space for parking as it is.

The infill regulations are bringing chaos to otherwise quiet neighborhoods. Excess traffic and garbage removal in tight spaces along with parking issues. Inflated property prices and devaluation of some properties positioned between developments. Encroachment and privacy of neighbours infringed on. All infills should be based on responsible guidelines and policies.

Not happy with all the multi family homes being built in the older neighborhoods. Skinny’s seem ok, bit not the 4-8 plexes being built. Parking problems & other things that neighbors do not appreciate.

Edmonton’s Bylaw 20001 has failed.
“This zone will foster neighbourhoods with a wider range of housing options
to meet the diverse needs of Edmontonians. It will also support more
complete, compact communities where residents can meet their daily
needs closer to home.”
There is a narrow range of developments - poorly constructed multis for rent. The middle has lost. There is no space for businesses to open. The city council and few businesses have benefited. Most citizens have lost.

The established neighbourhoods of Edmonton are being destroyed by this temporary fix of dense housing. Zoning should not be cast aside. Existing property values matter. Do better City of Edmonton.

I lived in my community for almost 30 years. I object to the 8 plexes going up on a lo where a bungalow sat. Too big. Too much. No control.
Absolutely! This needs to stop.
