Your Excellency, While I am no longer living in the Allentown Diocese, I was saddened to hear that Fr. James Martin was allowed to give a talk as a way to assuage and comfort those parents whose children are struggling with same sex attraction. This talk will not be helpful to those parents. This talk will not be helpful to those struggling. This talk will only cause more confusion and pull them further away from the beauty and the truth of the teachings of the Catholic Church. I would highly recommend you replace Fr. James Martin with a speaker from Eden Invitation, a fantastic ministry that shows true compassion and guidance to those wrestling with same sex attraction while trying to be faithful Catholics. Please help restore the true teachings of the Church by standing up against homosexual priests.

Does the bishop not know who Father Martin is and what he represents? This is shocking to me but not surprising.

Father Martin does not care about people's immortal souls - if he did, he wouldn't lie to them and call sin good.

Bishop James Martin is promoting homosexuality as an okay practice. He does not ever proclaim the sin of acting on that inclination. He should not be allowed to speak publicly. This is outrageous and makes me very suspicious of our Allentown Diocesan Bishop. Such a disgrace.

A faithful bishop would not permit, much less welcome, Father Martin to speak in his diocese.

We need to protect the remnant Catholics.

Your Excellency, Allowing Fr. Martin to speak in our Diocese send the wrong message. It’s a false sense of charity to Fr Martin as well as all involved. Please consider rescinding the invitation since Fr. Martin preaches and teaches heretical theology. We have been through “the mill” already! We don’t need anymore. Outreach is something done on a one on one basis in a compassionate and careful way with the intention of truly bringing Christ to someone who is struggling with homosexuality or any other sin. Allowing father Martin a forum like this does the opposite and causes more confusion for those seeking the truth about our faith.

We are praying that you will reconsider this decision. Fr. Martin does not represent the TRUE teaching of the Catholic Church. Faithful Catholics are opposed to this decision.

It is not uncharitable to keep heretical thoughts out of the diocese, it's best for the faithful.

Dear Bishop, please take hold of your flock and keep us from bad theology.
