When your own designer clearly spells out that the old deck is not balanced and a the new one fixes the problems, it is a mistake to allow the old one to tournaments.

If this was the intention it should have been announced from the start, not after thousands of players had gone out and bought something that you had insisted was a requirement for organised play.
False advertising yet again on FFGs part. You've made people part with their money for it, now make sure this is the only legal deck.

The new damage deck was created to fix a balance issue. FFG should stand their ground and require it to be mandatory starting Jan 1. This gave players ample time to purchase a new core set. The old deck will always be available for casual play.

There should be only one legal damage deck and it should be thr new one.
The designer's own words state that it fixes things that are broken in the old one.

no purpose to balancing the new deck if it can just be ignored. If you force us to buy cards for upgrades anyway there should be no issue with buying a new deck

The deck should not be tailored to benefit your fleet. Allowing an option between the two does this exact thing. No. One Damage Deck (the FA Deck), and One Damage Deck only.

The damage deck should be feared, not something that is part of your competitive list building. Casual gaming either deck is fine, but for tournaments the new deck should be mandatory to ensure crits are effective.

I play X-wing game since 2013. The new damage deck is a way better that the old. It makes critical damage more significant. I don't bellive what you done. Leaving decision to the players will make that most competitive players will use the old one.

Old damage deck only rewards specific squads, New deck is impactful to ALL squads.

I believe that allowing players to choose which damage deck to use will be detrimental to the competitive scene and discouraging to new players. A single standard should be adopted.
