Why would an organization created to promote student athletes, schools and sports within the State of Tennessee allow playoff games or regional contest to be played in another state?
Why send our student athletes to another state to compete for a chance for a Tennessee state title? Why send our hard earned tax dollars to another state? Let's promote our state, create revenue for our businesses and promote the assets of this state....not neighboring ones.
The purpose of this petition is very simple. We are asking the TSSAA to simply adopt a policy where all TSSAA sanctioned playoff or regional games/contest must be played at a facility that is located within the boundaries of the State of Tennessee. The local committees and schools will still have complete flexibility as to where and when to host these events....as long as they are hosted within the State of Tennessee.

The feedback regarding these playoff locations continues to highlight a shared desire to keep athletic competitions within our state borders. I am currently working to organize our points for a formal presentation to the board. Thank you for your continued patience as we prepare these next steps.

Makes absolutely no sense to take our money across state lines. We have great stadiums right here in TN.
The people who decide where to host these events should be required to keep the event in TN and centrally located to all schools. By definition- a TN event in MS is not centrally located to all teams in the Region so should not be allowed from a tax payer or school equality standpoint. This makes no sense for any reason.
Agreed! Seems like this would be an obvious thing. Glad it is finally being addressed.
Yes, keep all TSSAA state competitions in the state. Tennessee has plenty of quality facilities to hold these competitions.
Requires all types of sanctioned TSSAA sport events to be located within the boundaries of the State of Tennessee.
