The main purpose of breeding should be an attempt to either improve the quality and appearance of our dogs, or at least an attempt to keep the breed as it was when it was opened to the public. I don't understand why UKC has changed the Standards, and would be delighted, instead of feeling defeated, if they would change the current standards so the Eliminating Faults would be returned to the status of Disqualifications.

Being a companion breed, the Alaskan Klee Kai's appearance is equally important as their health, conformation and temperament. Compromising any one of these aspects will destroy any results from the dedication of conscientious breeders who aim to preserve and improve this breed.
