For once this trimester , we should be given the chance, even though we prepared the exam time limit and other constraints made us to hard code

I know they did wrong, and they shouldn’t have done it. But I still believe they deserve a chance. However, this is a message for everyone who cheated or used hardcoding: It's not just about a single paper — it's about someone's future. Due to relative grading, the honest students end up receiving lower grades in such scenarios. This can affect their educational loans (which many of us are relying on), their placement opportunities, and ultimately, their morale and that of their families. Despite working hard, they may score less while others score more — not because of merit, but because of unfair means. That’s deeply disheartening.

Would they (hardcoders) agree that they took unfair advantage over others. They literally take themselves as messiah no matter if they really understood the problem or not. Let's drop the mask now. Let the castle burn this time.

Their punishment shouldn't be reduced.

A similar incident occurred during our webdev exam last trimester, where instead of solving problems the intended way (using setTimeout, setInterval), plenty of test takers decided to take a shortcut by directly console logging, which is unfair to those who spent the time studying those particular concepts. Despite this, there were no real repercussions. A similar incident also occurred in our LA exam. These incidents might make it reasonable to believe that shortcuts (flaws with the platform, without any explicit mentions of their disallowed-ness) are fair game. So, as someone who did not hardcode any problems, I believe it is unjustified to reward a zero to those who did.

I believe that only the questions that are hardcoded should be turned to 0 As most students now have hardcoded just bcz ppl have been getting marks by harcoding in previous exams leading to us getting lower results.. And I believe most of these who have hardcoded first time have done 1 or at max 2 questions

Deducting marks only for the question that was hardcoded would be more fair.

Through this petition, I request our instructor to consider a fairer consequence — such as deducting marks only for the questions where hard-coded answers were used — instead of a complete zero for the entire exam.

I didn't hardcode, but giving 0, without any proper warning, is wrong. They should at least give marks for the non-hardcoded questions, this time being the final one.
