The City has an opportunity to consider how these rare properties like Talaris, and Seattle Children's Home site, are evaluated for development. City and community goals should be reflected in that evaluation -- such as the City's goal to increase the tree canopy within the City, increase density in appropriate areas (next to urban village areas) to reduce car-dependent developments, value historic sites that honor the past and investing in the future of Seattle. A public meeting giving the opportunity for citizens to ask questions and give input seems like a smart step.

As the city population continues to densify on the inexorable path to "All World" status, this tract of land begins to look more and more like our version of New Yorks' Central Park of the future. Continuing the City's forward looking history in preserving unique tracts for future generations, this socially and ecologically significant it should be purchased by the citizens of the State of Wasjhington and added to the University of Washington's land base to be used as a multii-purpose facility: green space, conference cenrter in continuation of it's historic and current use.

City landmarks should be preserved not chopped up like cheap kindling. At a minimum we require a public meeting to talk about options and ramifications of this proposal.

Please do not allow Talaris to destroy the beauty of this property. Their proposal will be harmfull to this natural wetland, choke off the waterway running through it, destroy a bald eagle nest that a mated pair has had for years, where thy have raised many offspring, and flood our neighborhood with more traffic than it can handle. The noise, pollution, and additional car traffic will negatively impact our way of life. Please don't allow this to go forward.
