Request to delay 4% registration fee until project's completion

I booked the apartment in 2008 and am still waiting for delivery. I am not sure if the project will ever be completed. The registration fee should be taken only on handover after completion.

I've also invested in this project. And totally agree that the registration fee should be delayed till completion of full project as already too delayed for this project

Worst decision I made in my life was to invest in Dubai Lagoon !

Why have RERA, DLD, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Government allowed Schon/TCM to continually mislead investors for 10 years? This is a partnership of companies that hasn't finished a single project in 10 years! How is it possible that they haven't been held accountable for holding investors money for 10 years with no sign of completion? Dubai needs to think about the damage this kind of "businessmen" do to its reputation. Expo 2020 is 5 years away and Dubai Lagoon is sending the wrong message about the safety of investments here.

I will gladly pay but I don't believe my developer intends to complete the project. It is already 8 years late.

10 Years I have been waiting. 10 Years ago Pope John Paul 11 died, Angela Merkel became Germanys first Female Chancellor and the Burj Khalifa was just being started. No amount of compensation is going to be enough. Get on with it!!!

I have been waiting for my apartment for over 5 years

I would request the authorities not just to keep the registration fee payable at handover but also to refrain from capriciously changing the rules from day to day in all cases. Such actions don't help the real estate sector but greatly undermine people's trust and confidence in the sector when rules are whimsically changed and even applied retrospectively whenever it strikes the fancy of some authority. This particular change has significant implications not just for end users and investors alike who have lost huge sums on projects that never materialized but also for those who have budgeted as per the previous practice (registration payment at handover) and now face a shortfall. I would urge the authorities not to underestimate the importance of stability and clarity in the market and to try to work with people rather than against them through constructive regulations that are well thought out before implementation. Therefore, kindly reconsider this new demand at the earliest as it is very shortsighted and disappointing, and only harms the market.

I hope that the Government / Land Dept.in Dubai can intervene and ensure that the Dubai Lagoon project is completed.We have had completion dates for more than 7 years given to us by Schon Properties and we have heard absolutely nothing from Town Centre Management.......How anyone can continually mislead people is beyond belief and someone has to intervene.

I live in UAE since 15 years , Investor in Dubai Lagoon Project. is true that This Project suffered very serious slowdowns. I sign my 2 apartment in December 2005 ( 10 years ago) trought better homes for the dubai lagoon . As a customer is frustrating to give money to people that have no clear answer for you in Dubai, the place where a choose to live, give my experience and support the country in is directions. I would like the Dubai government give us an answer to help to secure my savings of many years of hard work in this country and look at dubai as a place to plan a future foe me and my family. thank you

I don't need to explain anything... I invested when I was 32 years old and now I am 42 years of age. This is my entire life's savings! I am sure the Government can fix this issue!

I am a teacher and therefore need some money to support my kids education. I bought this apartment thinking that I will get a resident UAE Visa and will be able to rent it out. But these 8 years have been extremely full of frustration and disappointments. I just dont know how to make Schon properties realize how many families have come in distress because of their false promises. I want nothing now but just my money back asap.

I am an overseas Investor in Dubai Lagoon Project. This Project sufferred very serious slowdowns now and in the past for more than 5-6 years and is no where to be seen in materialising it. The developer does not seem having any concern over their customers outstanding Problems. Fore more than 6 years they have been giving us odd completion dates which keeps on changing year after year. In front of Dubai Governmental authorities they managed to skip the Dates. How this is possible. I am not worried about the 4% but even it is done, what guarantee do we (Investors) have from regulatory organisations in Dubai?
