St. Paul: "I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the churchb whom you are to judge? God judgesc those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:11-13

This is outrageous and should be addressed. Our Orthodox clergy have a duty to uphold our faith and defend it from defilers. If the clergy won’t stand up to sin then how are we walking in holiness? Stand and represent the faith you have dedicated your life to serving. The Holy Fathers are not silent on this issue and neither should you!

As an 11 year convert to Orthodoxy who has been exceedingly blessed by participation in the one holy Orthodox, catholic and apostolic church, my plea is for our Orthodox leaders to openly, lovingly and firmly address this issue. Thinking of our beautiful Orthodox Church descending into the un-orthodoxy that we fled is heartbreaking.
